leave the flash switched on with my Samsung as it seemed to use it when it wasn't required at all. The Canon seems to produce a nice sharp image in most indoor situations without resorting to using the flash, giving a more natural image. It will use it when needed though.
The optical zoom is 3x, not a particularly high number, quite standard on compact cameras. There's a little dial around the button to take a photo, an intuitive place to put it in my opinion.
If you're looking to produce some videos for youtube then it does produce high defintion video, but without the optical zoom. You can achieve playback directly to your TV via the HDMI connector on the camera, first time I've seen that feature and a great idea I think.

This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. After using this product for a few months I have not so far come up against any reliability issues but only time will tell. I therefore would recommend the product.

Canon DCC-90 is the official soft case for the Canoncamera models S2, S3 and S5. There isn't really too much to say about this soft case but I'll do my best.
I own a Canondigital camera S5 IS and since the size of this camera is quite weird (not as big as Reflex cameras but neither small enough to fit in common camera cases) I found very hard to find a proper case for it. What stopped me from buying the original case by Canon was it's price. As a matter of fact the cost is £14.55 at the lowest (on amazon.co.uk) while generally can be purchased around £17-25 everywhere else. The timer can be set anywhere from 1 second to 99 hours. A new dial enables you to easily enter the numeric settings with a single thumb. The LCD panel can also be illuminated. It has the new N-3 type connector, which locks with a simple push. The rear of the Controller has a slot to store the camera's remote control socket cap.
