Advantages: Same Canon quality we have come to expect, great ISO capabilities. Disadvantages: Buttons can get fiddly in the cold.
Canon 500D
Introduction
Canons range of cameras is very impressive. Everyone can be accommodated for, there really is something for everyone.
Camera Itself
First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. Having the functionality of a high quality video camera on family holidays and such will be welcomed by the enthusiast market at which this is aimed toward. One problem I found ...

Setup
---------
This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can.
You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it.
There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do.
You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites ...
Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not
I bought this camera recently as I purchased a Canon EOS1000D DSLR and I wanted a compact digital with a large zoom for the times when I didn't feel like lugging the DSLR and all it's accessories around with me.
I'd looked around at other models, and I know that there are many other cameras that offer a much higher zoom, but I finally settled on this one for a number of reasons.
a) 12 million pixels. This is more than I'll probably ever need as it's very rare that I print anything above 8x10 but it was an upgrade on my previous digital compact.
b) 12x optical zoom. This is more than adequate for general photography, any more and I think you do probably need a tripod.
c) NB-5L Li-Ion Battery. This is just a personal preference but I prefer the rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. It's fairly cheap to buy a couple of spares and I ...

Manufacturer's product description
The XEED SX60 delivers bright, high contrast projection for crystal clear presentations and movies. With SXGA+, near-silent operation and a Home Cinema mode, it's designed for both business and home use.The XEED SX60 uses LCOS panels with virtually no gaps between pixels to faithfully project seamless images. With native SXGA+ resolution (1400 x 1050 pixels), it produces precise, sharp images.2, 500 lumens output ensures that your images are bright, even when projected from long throw distances or in daylight. Canon's Advanced AISYS optical system optimizes the projector's light path, achieving powerful output from a compact, lightweight chassis. The dedicated Home Cinema mode optimizes the projector settings for watching films in your living room. Contrast is boosted to 1500: 1 for incredibly rich colors, to provide maximum viewing enjoyment. The double frame-rate drive of the XEED SX60 LCOS panels ensures smooth reproduction of moving images, without any annoying flicker. When not in Home Cinema mode, the XEED SX60 still yields an impressively high 1000: 1 contrast ratio - with AISYS overcoming the contrast limitations of traditional LCOS projectors. Color tones are rich and vivid, blacks are deep and inky and incredible detail is provided throughout the entire image. In Quiet Mode the SX60 is virtually silent - a mere 27dBA. Fan noise is reduced to a whisper, so that presentations or films are not interrupted by an irritating background whir. With a motorized Canon 1.7x wide-angle zoom lens, large images can be projected from a short throwing distance, giving flexibility in projector placement. The lens is powered, so it can be operated from the remote control handset - you won't even need to leave the couch! The XEED SX60 can be set up with little effort. With Auto Focus, the projector detects its distance from the screen and focuses accordingly. Auto Screen Color Correction adjusts settings for optimal viewing on different screen colors. Vertical Keystone Correction is automatic, preventing trapezium distortion of the image. The SXGA+ resolution also ensures faithful reproduction of High Definition sources (720p/1080i). A connection via DVI (Digital Visual Interface) provides optimum image quality from digital sources, including HD images. The XEED SX60 supports the HDCP standard, for high quality playback of encrypted digital content.
