There is colour scan and fax, but printing and photocopies are mono (black and white) because it only has a monochrome toner - so no surprises there.
It has automatic duplex (both sides) printing.
print speed is fast.
cartridges are £60 for original ones and you may buy remanufactured ones at less than half price.
When I purchased Canon were including a 3 year next day on site repair warranty, but if you choose to use remanufactured toners then you will invalidate this warranty (i understand you still have the option to pay the engineer extra). Regardless it shows that they have a lot of belief in their product not falling over.
negatives for me are that the person this was bought for has fail eyesight and the lcd display is small and detailed for them. There is no handset...

First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. ...In my opinion, printer have to be fast, print high quality pictures, and look nice. Canon PIXMA ip2600 printer fits the requirements.
Canon PIXMA iP2600 alows to print high quality pictures and it's doing it fast.
It prints ~18 high quality pictures in 1 minute(I checked that). Can you imagine that?!
The pictures after a year looks like just printed. By the way i think that, this printer is very stylish (not like others big and noisy printers),and not expensive too.
I have this printer almost whole year and it haven't dissapoint me. Canon PIXMA iP2600 is very easy to use, because it's created for home user.
