i was quite disappointed upon getting this card, When i was 18 i thought i would apply for a couple for emergency use and the occassional purchase, I applied for a Barclaycard VISA and got one at 17.9% with a £400 limit and then the Capital One Mastercard, this arrived with a very disappointing in comparison 29.9% APR and only a £200 limit. I don't have any CCJ's nor am i blacklisted.
I have used both cards and recently had my Barclaycard credit limit increase to more than double what it was when i got it last May, the Capital One card has recieved no such increase and no reduction in the APR.
I have never paid late, but should i do so there is a hefty £15 charge (and i think its gone up recently) which is no good thing, and especially when they are only giving out credit limits of £200 with a hefty APR.
This card looks a major let down, but the services offered by Capital One are unbeatable. As well as having an online banking facility where you can pay your monthly statement, transfer balances and check your transactions there is a freephone automated service where you can do exactly the same. Most of the other providers who let you check your transactions over the phone will charge you at National rate for the privilage. From this 0800 number you can also get through to a 'human' advisor without charge.
Although the service is good the card is very poor, if you are able to get the No Hassle platinum card then things may be different, but i cannot recommennd this card on service alone and therefore advise you to stay away from this unless its your only option. i.e you have CCJ's etc and have problems getting credit.
