I have a credit card with Capital One and when I clear it I will cut the card up and throw the pieces in the air. I will explain!
I took the card out about two years ago. The leaflet dropped through my letterbox telling me how wonderful it would be to have a Capital One card in my pocket, how cool and great this card would make me. So me being a fool at the instant offer of a bit of money applied for the card and was accepted and had the card within a week, I have to say that Capital One are not to fussy who they give credit cards to as most of my family have been offered one over the last year. And the fact that they gave me one right away proved that they give one to anyone!!
So card in my hand, being a bit skint and Christmas coming I am tempted to spend a bit of this money that isn’t mine. So you see I do spend money, I just don’t spend my own. And you got it in one, I spent the whole damn limit they gave me, which was £200. My policy in life is spend today and worry about it tomorrow, by the way don’t follow that policy.
Anyway that’s me now in a position were I owe Capital One a certain amount of money a month with a small amount of interest added on. The interest is 1.65 per cent of what you owe. Now my problem is I am getting on a bit in years and my memory is not the best so I tend to leave things to the last minute. Big mistake with Capital One…
If you don’t pay Capital One on the day the payment is due you get £18 added on to your account for late payment. Now if this takes you over your limit you get another £18 added to your account, so for missing your payment by one day you would find it costing you £36..
It has happened to me twice and but for my silver tongue and a lovely girl called Jessica I would now be owing Capital One £72 more than I should be..To be fair I have found most of the girls on the Capital One helpline very friendly and understanding. If you do have problems with Capital One just ask for Jessica and mention my name, I am definitely in there!!
I would just end by saying be careful if you take a Capital One card that you pay on time and don’t go over the limit. They also offer Travel Insurance, Home Insurance and Car Insurance but I haven’t taken any of their offers on them.
So to end, if you are tempted into getting a credit card then fair enough get one but use it correctly. Just buy stuff on it and clear it right away, don’t go building a load of grief and debt on it. I made that mistake but I intend to correct that mistake in the coming months..

I've been trying to close my account with them for over 2 years and still get grief off them from time to time - stay clear of this lot is my advice.

Perhaps a little more info about the card, art, such as interest rates, benefits (if any), that kinda stuff. £36 phew!!!!!
