High APR, but still a Capital card

Advantages good if you have bad credit history as you will be accepeted
Disadvantages APR very high
I would not normally endorse a credit card that charges a 29.9% APR, but I will on this occassion, as this really is a card with advantages and is user friendly.
My credit rating is awful due to blowing a lot of money on a lot of rubbish, this has led to problems and a bad credit rating. When this happens banks and card issuers treat you like a leper, snubbing you for past errors. Sometimes this is due to genuine reasons such as responsible lending, which they are obliged fo follow, but they could be more helpful. They are not though.
This is where Capital One steps in. They recognise the second chance and the opportunity to rebuuild your credit rating. They have a simple application form, which is also short, and a choice of designs, ranging from lightning, to smarties, and have a guaranteed acceptance claim. And they appear to do this, without risking irresponsible lending - as they give you a very minor credit limit, but still an opportunity to repair that credit rating.
I have a limit of £200.00 and pay off my balance in full each month - this avoids the 29.9% APR, meaning I get interest free. The APR is very high, but with the minor limit you can pay in full to avoid. The APR is clearly advertised though in the advert I saw, and the literature they sent me, so there are no headline grabbing typical APRs which no-one qualifies for. There is noloyalty scheme either, but that is not really an issue to me.
There are other charges, such as late payment fees and going over your limit, but they will be clearly documented in the information booklet they will send you with the card . Read this booklet, it is in clear English and informative, with important information clearly displayed, unlike typical credit card and loan information. The statements are clear too - clearly displaying the minimum payment and when it is due. It also advises lastest dates to pay for the money to reach your account by the required date, based on various payment methods - really helpful. Furthermore, it also quotes the estimated interest you will pyy, if you only make the minimum payment, and make it on time.
Ways to pay, well there is a choice, cheque, direct debiit, internet banking but you do not appear to be able to pay over the phone with debit cards normally, unless you are in arrears or above your limit. This is not a major problem.Customer service is good, and even the automated service, both of which are on a FREEPHONE number, and open 24 hours , is simple to use and not annoying, and I do not say that very often.
So, bad credit - get this card - but pay your balance in full and on time!!!
