...just how much I like Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. Captain Morgan Sir Henry Morgan, better known as Captain Morgan was born in Wales in 1635 and was a successful buccaneer. In 1674 he was knighted by King Charles II and in 1690, he became the governor of Jamaica. In 1944 the Seagram Company began producing rum under the name of Captain Morgan Rum Company. Although I claim no great expertise about rums I understand it is made by distilling fermented molasses and ageing them in barrels for periods between 1 and 30 years. In the case of Captain Morgan's Original Special Rum,cinnamon and cloves are added to the product.
