Pioneer DEH4000UB Fantastic, a real bargain if you shop around.
Advantages: Impressive for the money, especially through 'Twenga'. Disadvantages: None
I bought the Pioneer DEH-4000UB recently as a replacement for the standard radio/cassette in my BMW 3 series. I have never been impressed with the BMW stereo (Phillips), and assumed that perhaps the speakers were as much to blame as the head unit. I toyed with the idea of fitting a CD multi player in the boot, but they can be very expensive.
I was playing by Sansa mp3 player through the head unit, using a cassette adapter, and although the Sansa ... ...or less decided on the Pioneer DEH-4000UB, which Argos were selling for just under £90. Now for the best bit, ### If You Look On 'Twenga' You Can Buy The SAME unit, AT ARGOS for only £49.99 ??? but only if you get re-directed through Twenga, if you go straight to argos, the price is the full £87.99. Needless to say, I immediately reserved one of the units at my local argos, and picked it up later that day for the bargain price of £49.99, on some ...

InPhase IPS920SD Car Head-Unit
Advantages: Many features, value for money, ease of installation and ability to connect amp and speakers Disadvantages: Rotary wheel can be sensitive, IPOD wont connect through USB
...for sound quality and power, in my opinion you will not be disapointed. Compared with my old factory head-unit in the corsa, the in-phase made my standard factory speakers sound so much better and the bass which was being produced was pretty good as well. As for connecting items such as amplifiers and speakers to this head unit, this task is also very simple. The back of the head unit has inputs for up to 4 channel amplifiers and also a sub out. ... ...you push the rotary wheel in and then you would have all the songs by that artist. Obviously you would have to create the MP3 CD's yourself on you computer but that doesn't take to long. The SD card and USB input are good if you songs are stored on these devices and you can also use the search facility which is good considering you can store thousands of songs on SD cards. The USB input is also suppose to support the IPOD and you are suppose to be ...

Never mind the iPod and bluetooth
Advantages: Sleek, excellent audio, good navigation Disadvantages: No blue tooth and iPod support
To my mind Sony is the safest when you are considering sound systems and there is no doubt that these guys does pioneering jobs as far as audio systems are concerned. I have always been against having a sound system fixed in my car because it tends to make me too cozy and vulnerable to possible mishaps. But ultimately I was able to convince myself that okay some times, if not always, you do require a music player on your loco specially when on long ... ...to keep my faith on Sony and decided to go for Sony CDX-GT620U. First thing that is very impressive about this mp3 player is its sleek and gorgeous looks. Impressed I dug into its features and here it is for you:
>·Detachable faceplate ·>DRIVE-S gives extended durability of the CD drive ·>52 W x4 S-MOSFET amplifier
·>CD/CD-RW/mp3/WMA/ATRAC (from USB only)/AAC playback ·>USB input for easy playback of digital music ·>3 Segment LCD display for clear ...

Great looking and good sound
Advantages: Good looking, good sound. Disadvantages: Face doesn't come off, no mp3 connection.
I've had this stereo for 6 years and I love it. It is easy to install, looks good and has a great sound. The TFT display is clear and there are some good graphics on there (I normally have the one on the display picture). It plays mp3 discs but does not have a mp3 jack to connect your ipod/mp3 player which these days is a downside. The only real negative is that the face doesn't come off. It comes with a cover but I don't think that's fooling even ... ...code for security though. It comes with a remote for people in the back to use or to change over when you're listening outside the car but other than that I can't see the point in it.
All in all a very good stereo and I'm glad I bought it. ...
