Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: Not compatible with the ipod touch
I got the Sony CDX-GT 44IP as a present a couple of months ago, as my friend bought another one. It's a great little item.
Sound:
The sound quality is very good. Much better than you would expect it for this sort of price. As it was a present I cannot tell you how much I paid. But you'll find it in the internet for about £73. Considering this price is a brilliant item with a lot of features found normally on much higher priced units. It comes with ... ...i a car but can be a nice little extra. It works with most ipods but unfortunately not with the iPod touch.
The installation instructions are very good. There will not be any problems.
It has the ability to connect up an amp further which enhances the sound. Another problem is, that it can be a bit of a pain to find a song, if you have a lot on your ipod.
Overall it is good value for money and looks more expensive than it is. ...

I bought this radio-cd player in april 2000. I've liked it from the start for it's original features and the active black panel. Though I'd like to warn everybody who's not really keen on a lot of menu's and title's, because adjusting all listening options is a rather difficult thing. You always have to pass through a pack of menu's. I strongly advise the buyer to install the optional joystick remote control, to make the use of this radio a little ... ...to open the active black panel before being able to adjust volume/change track...
In my country (Belgium), a wireless remote control (card-form) is furnished at no extra cost. This is nice to use when you are standing still but should never be used when driving ! All together this is a good car stereo with excellent features and good tuner. The 4x50 watt amplifier should satisfy even the freaks. ...

Firstly, i bought this cd player for one reason only...it looked so nice. my friends were amazed when i pressed a button and the motorised screen flipped over to reveal the ... ...top of all this, i have had this unit for a good few months, and i have never hear it skip once, not even over speed bumps. I would finally like to add that i have ooked up a sony t69 cd changer which i would also reccomend(read my review) ...

I bought this Sony head unit for my partner exactly 1 year ago as a christmas present and I can only say that I made an excellent choice. I bought this model because I had already bought a sony for myself a few years earlier and it had lasted me a long time with no major problems.
This model looks great in her Fiat dash board and I'm sure the stylish silver finish would look good in most other modern cars.
The Sound quality is excellent, ... ...bass remains clear. You also have a selection of equaliser options to choose from. The choice of functions is good to and if you can use either the radio - FM/MW and LW or CD. There is also a usb input which can be used to play music directly from a usb stick. Alternatively you hav an aux input at the front (standard headphone jack size) which allows you to connect your ipod.
The product has been very robust so far, no problems or loose buttons ...

sony yet again great sound, great colors, easy to wire up, changable remotes either handheld or on steering wheel.
very easy to use but only if u have a remote as there is no buttons on it so ur unable to change cd to radio or change volume.
all in all its worth buying but obviuosly u cant now as its been discontinued but i recomend to all who need a new stereo.
it was well worth the £400 it cost new years ago as its still goin now, but only now ...
