Lookers Renault Stockport - Avoid their Ex-demos

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Damaged car, never advised when purchasing!

I bought a Renault Clio 172 Cup from Lookers Renault in April 2004. The car was an ex-demonstrator, I had an incident with the car where I needed some repair work done to one of the wings...whereon I was advised by the bodyshop that some 'touch-up' paint had been used to cover damage! I was horrified, and it turned out that the car had been involved in some form of impact, and not repaired properly. I was absolutely mortified that I'd paid £12,500 ...
...a poor standard. The even more mortifying thing was that there was a Renault Megane 225 which had been front-ended and this would have been repaired in-house, and therefore not declared on the HPI reports for that car, just like it wasn't for mine. I would never purchase another car from them due to my experiences...I went to a dealer as I thought that would be the best to go to a Renault dealer rather than private or through a backstreet dealer. ...

Rip off Autoebid

Advantages: None didn,t
Disadvantages: No humane feeling

Don't sign your card details until you are sure you are able to buy the car. After 3 days of placing an order with them I was informed that I was to be made redundant, I emailed them to cancel but they still took £339 out of my account. Just another con. I explained that I would have been happy to use the site again but with other commitments to think of for the future I had to pull out of the deal. How can they Justify taking the commission money ...

ARNOLD CLARK THE CONMEN

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: everything

...this letter perfectly discribes how arnold clark treat their customers after the sale I am writing on behalf of my partner Richard Clark concerning a complaint he would like to pursue regarding your branch in Newcastle-under-Lyme.On Saturday 20th of June at around 9.30am Richard arrived in his Alpha Romeo 147 to get, what he understood, a free service as he thought it was part of the contract upon purchasing the car in June 08. Once there he was ...
...flap that was proposed by Arnold Clark it was the heater motor, which incidentally is covered by the Autocare warranty. Richard was told coincidentally that this as quoted by the Arnold Clark service department would be £600 - £700. My partner was asked how long the millage had been flashing for, to which he replied since he had the car. He was informed that the heating was the reason for this. The mechanic went on to say that the heater motor was ...

Poor after service, Lookers Burnley Volkswagen

Advantages: Good deal on car
Disadvantages: Poor after service, don't call customers back, don't seem to care or communicate

We recently bought a car from Lookers in Burnley for my girlfriend. Doing the deal with them was great but as soon as we had signed on the dotted service went downhill from there - this company NEVER call you back and I have complained about poor service to several different managers who seem not to care. There were several easily fixable things wrong with the car on collection, no tax as promised, no service log, and the company applied for finance ...

Halliwell Jones Chester (BMW) - Give Them A Wide Berth

Advantages: Some pretty cars to look at in the showroom
Disadvantages: Poor after-sales, the ability to 'create' problems with your car (then refuse to accept liabilty)

...BMW, and knowing this information BMW decide only to check the brakes. I know from experience that even Vauxhall dealers would undertake a full (or at least the service that was due based on the vehicle's age) in this situation. They also explained that the fluid levels were not checked during this service, which makes me wonder why I even bothered taking it for a service at all. I could have checked the brakes. The dealer therefore refused to accept ...
