One of the few great motoring magazines with great features & writing. Although an American magazine it is full of articals on vehicles from all over the world & isn't biased towards any in particular despite comments from some readers. Road tests are detailed with good photography & excellent writing. Many witty comments add to the appeal of this magazine. The magazine always ends with features on motorsport but the bulk of the magazine is dedicated to products. My only gripes are when a new model is introduced they do excellent features on it but seldom follow the model up again unless it is included in a comparison test or is upgraded. If you want to find a feature on a particular model introduced say two years ago you'll find it difficult to find.
Advantages: looks good, performs nicely, handles like a dream, nicely equipped Disadvantages: few, if any
you got to drop two gears.
The same situation occurs on the motorway. You are crusing maybe at 70-75mph and in 5th gear. You want to nip around that truck before that mondeo rep bears down and cuts you up but you are in the wrong gear. You need to be in 4th already. You need to be in mode 2.
Mode 2: Ok, so perhaps this is why you chose the fiesta st? You wanted a driverscar. In this mode you only got 4 gears (at least this is the way i view the car). 5th gear is for fuel economy and for that last climb above 100 (4th gets you to 100, so i am led to beleive ;-). 2, 3 and 4 will take you to where you want to be quite nicely and 5th will hold you there (now this is hearsay ;-), but 5th also kicks in quite nicely at 5000 to take you up to 130 mph).
The key to this car is not to let go too early. When the fiesta purrs at 3500 ...

Advantages: great if you are lazy Disadvantages: not made any more, a bit costly and rear visibility not too good
the required speed and relax, need to speed up just a little or slow down just a little, press a button on the steering wheel and you are there!
Fuel efficiency is not that good, but not far off other cars of a similar size. Visibility is generally good if you use the mirrors a lot. Rear visibility is a little restricted and you may need to alter your driving position to avoid the front support bars getting in your way. Safety is Renaults thing and this car is fitted with all of the equipment and safety features that were available a few years back, front driver and passenger airbags, lateral airbags and reinforced body-work.
All in all a good buy second-hand (and that is the only way to get them now).

Advantages: style, class, powerful and built to last. Disadvantages: replacement parts can be expensive.
engine that powered my 320i had the variable valve timing system (Google for further info) which set it apart from the 1.6 or the 1.8 versions of the car. It had 150 brake horse power, could reach 130mph, had a naught to sixty of around 10 seconds and an average fuel consumption of around 31mpg which is very reasonable for a car and engine of this size.
One of my favourite things about the BMW is the fact that it is driven from the rear wheels, in years gone by this was the norm but now a days the majority of cars are front wheel drive. Front wheel drive cars don?t have the real driver feel that you get from a rear wheel driven car. The only thing that you have to watch for in a rear wheel drive car if you are not used to one is the back end skipping out on bends (known as a power slide) however this will only happen due to too much ...
