Review of FLI FLI TRAP 12 Active

Fli Active 12 Subwoofer

Advantages: Reasonable-ish value and very nice design
Disadvantages: Simply doesn't sound deep or loud enough

I bought a Fli Active 12 online for about £70 a while ago, and was dissapointed with this sub. I should point out it is the mark two, ported version, and I think there has since been a more recent version since. In comparison I also have a very cheap looking 12" sub with a cheap, less powerful amp but much bigger enclosure and this sounds much better than the Fli sub I am sad to say (both louder and deeper). I can only assume this is the enclosure ...
...one (typically 4ohm). The Fli sub won't produce very deep bass and will not go loud enough to sound good on the move (at least not in a noisy older car like mine). It also has a nasty habit of distorting very obviously when pushed hard. On the plus side I do think the styling is great, it is fairly punchy sounding (if a little boomy for my tastes) and of course being active it's relatively easy to set up and install. My review of the JVC CS-V 525 car speakers

Advantages: Price, crisp high ends and good mid range
Disadvantages: bass not very good, could be louder

...Here's my review of the JVC CS-V 525. Firstly I am actually sitting in my car whilst I type so I can give a more comprehensive description of the sound quality. I bought these speakers of Ebay for £21.99 with free delivery so the value is'nt bad. I replaced my stock Peugeot 306 door speakers with these and needed an adaptor to fit the wiring which again I got of Ebay for around £3.50. They are very easy to get working although the screw alignments ...

One other dissapointing factor is I couldn't fit the speaker bracket or grill due to the irregular size so I just used my stock peugeot grills to cover the speaker. Review of JVC CS-V 525

Pure Bass. Buy it, play it, love it.

Advantages: Pure Bass, Great look, easy to install, great price.
Disadvantages: Might take some space, need a good amplifier

This speaker got 5th place on the Los Angeles Car Sound System Festival and was voted as the best buy deal in 2008. Get the most from your Car Sound System

Advantages: Great accustics for useing in the car
Disadvantages: Base and treble are in the same speaker and the base itself is poor without an equalizer

If you think to replace your old car speakers on something newer, then these are the right ones. Why? 1. Base and Pitch speakers 2 in one. 2. 130Watt is just enough for you as long as you sit less than a meter from them, your feet will be shaking. 3.
