Go further with Optimax.....................
Advantages: Fuel Economy, Overall Engine Performance Disadvantages: Estra Cost over standard unleaded
I have recently bought the new Honda Civic 2006 (1.8 SE I-Vtec).
Since march the first I have filled up the tank about 4 times (using standard unleaded - mostly from Sainsbury's!!!)
My father in law suggested trying out Optimax when I next fill up (he drives a BMW 320 SE). The main reason was to help maintain the engine - he suggested every 3 re-fills fill up with optimax. We both didnt envisage any performance enhancements by using optimax.
However,
... ...computer notifies me that I have about 390 miles to my next fill up (after about 5 miles driving). But by the time i I got to work yesterday, the trip computer was saying I had 449 miles till my next fill up!!! Also, around town Im averaging 40mg as opposed to approx 36mpg with the normall unleaded. Hopefully the extra 5 quid for a full tank of optimax will be overshadowed by the more mileage gained.
Also, I have noticed quicker acceleration and ...

*Break fluid (Oh no, that's tea!) . . .
Advantages: Good quality fluid Disadvantages: It does not last for ever.
This is a review on Shell YB brake fluid, but most of the info contained refers to all other makes. We all know Shell do petrol, but they also have interests in oil, gas and petrochemical plus hydrogen, biofuels, wind and solar power.
Shell YB (AKA Donax) is a glycol based DOT 4 brake fluid, there is also a lower spec DOT 3, and also a DOT 5, but this is silicon based and is totally different so will not be covered here. I am calling this brake ... ...designed to go into brake and clutch systems. It is recommended for use in all clutch systems, It is suitable for all disc and drum braking systems that require DOT 3 or 4 fluid. The sae rating (sort of standard for fluids, takes into account boiling point etc) is always exceeded by Shell, sometimes by as much as 20%.
This is a very efficient paint remover, as all brake fluids are, so be very careful.
The price varies by so much you may as well ...
