TomTom really have the market sussed

Advantages: Great customisation features, big clear screen, easy to use
Disadvantages: Battery life, no wall charger included

...This versions of the TomTom includes the latest maps of the UK & Ireland. You can get some TomTom's which have maps of Europe in them, but as I'm not planning on road trip around Europe anytime soon I went for the UK & Ireland version. Another big factor on choosing this one was the fact that the Europe edition was £80 more expensive at the time & after checking just now I noticed they haven't changed in price as I presumed they would have done either. ...
...connect to your phone. My TomTom sometimes stops at 40% for about 20 seconds or so then connects up within about a minute or so or sometimes when it stops at 40% it says connection failed, try again? Which can be very frustrating. A great feature with this sat nav is the voice recognition it comes with, this is especially great if you are driving at the time of operating this & saves you from taking your eyes off the road. It recognises your voice ...

I have been using the Tom Tom One for over 16months now, so do consider myself an expert on this particular piece of kit! Why did I buy it in the first place - that bit is easy, I travel a lot in a new job and to towns I would have never heard of before - on top of that I had some fantastic inside information that I will share with you. A friend of mine is in the car lease business - everything from Ford to Ferrari! Obviously most of the high end ...
...to their owners all over the country he has used them all, so he is the real expert. Guess what - he always carries his Tom Tom One with him He has become so frustrated with other systems unuserfriendliness (if that is a word) that he sticks with what he considers to be the best - the Tom Tom One. His advice - unless you need the fancy features of the other models - leave them alone and buy this basic. Most of the upgrades of the high end models ...

Advantages: Signal strength is excellent; Price; Look; Ease of use
Disadvantages: Might be hard to operate with large fingers; can be dangerous to use whilst driving

...After owning a fairly old TomTom for a few years, it was having some problems with charging, and instead of sending it away to get fixed etc, I decided to buy a new one altogether. I am quite loyal to TomTom's - I once bought a Binatone Sat Nav as a spare (it was cheap in a sale), which was absolutely useless and ended up being returned to the store for a refund - and find that the useless Binatone enables me to make comparisons with my new TomTom ...
... The best thing about the TomTom ONE Classic is the fact you can connect it up to your laptop/PC to charge it. Before, I could only charge my old Sat Nav via my car's cigarette lighter, but thanks to the USB cable, you can now charge it via your PC. To be honest though, I've only ever done this once! I think it's slightly easier to charge it whilst you're driving, as you know it won't die of battery and it makes no distracting noises/sounds etc. ...

One to rely on - generally...

Advantages: Very easy to use, Good value and does the job
Disadvantages: not great in Manchester?!

Overview With a change of job last year, I suddenly found myself travelling to new areas, without a printer to print off AA roadmaps, and I was ‘forced’ to abandon my maps and trust in technology… I must admit I am on my 2nd Tom-Tom One as the first one ‘died’ when I was updating the maps on the tom-tom website, that being said, this one has been utterly reliable, and I wouldn’t be without it. The Product Technical’s With a very clear and easy ...
...pre-installed maps for the UK and ROI, this really doesn’t take any setting up… jump in the car, plug in the in-car charger, stick it to your windscreen (only issues here are on very cold days when it slides across your screen til the car warms up) and type in the full postcode, or address. Within a few seconds, the route is calculated offering an ETA, journey length (useful for those expenses!) and with the option to avoid toll roads as applicable. ...

TomTom One Where Would You Be Without One

Advantages: Easy to Use, Cheap, All Most People Really Need
Disadvantages: Being Told To Keep Right on the Motorway. Can be Distracting.

...you know and let the TomTom take you from their. See downside point 2. 2. Points of interest - Can include anything from restuarants & cinenas to your local funeral dirctor - Many free sites to download from. 3. Speed camera details. 4. Speedo - My 2002 Mondeo underclocks by about 10% and I've only just noticed so I can now get everywhere 10% quicker without worrying about speeding - This is Great news. 5. ...area you know then let TomTom do the rest. This will save you hours of stress wondering why you've just driven in a huge circle. 3. The beep to tell you that you are speeding. Yes I know - Turn it off. 4. Being continually told to stay right at every junction on a motorway. Please. You only need to say when to get off. Don't think there is much you can do about this and trust be it really starts to be annoying on a long journey. 5. Battery Life ...
