* Hey, You look like the Michelin Man! . .
Advantages: Very good grip in all weather, especially in the wet. Disadvantages: The cost and fact that they wear faster.
...need a "Performance" tyre.
Michelin used own the Citroen car company from 1934 until 1976.
During the World War 2 , the allies relied heavily on the Michelin range of maps, when planning the Operation Overlord (D-Day landings) on the 6th of June 1944.
The size of a tyre is measured thus:-
We will take a common size tyre as an example - 195/70R x 16 82 V.

Michelin of course, is a renowned name in the tyre industry, Do you remember the Michelin man, This company symbol, is called Bibendum, or Bib the Michelin Man, It was introduced in 1898 by the French artist O'Galop, and is one of the oldest trademarks in the world. Andre Michelin actually commissioned the creation of the jolly, fat figure, modelling it on his brother, Today, Bibendum is one of the world's most recognized ...

The best Tyres!
Advantages: The Pirelli P6000 is one of the most popular tyres on the road at the moment. Disadvantages: a bit expensive
The Pirelli P6000 is one of the most popular tyres on the road at the moment. The tyre design is geared up for practicality as is the compound, creating an all things to all men tyre. Used by BMW, Ford, Vauxhall amongst others. The life of the tyre is very good as is the performance, however if it is sports performance you are looking for then this is probably not the tyre for you. The typical buyer is a motorway driver with a requirement for a long ... ...weekend! The Pirelli Pzero Nero is relatively new to the production line. It is the closest you will get within the Pirelli range to a track tyre. Its design is like a something out of a science fiction film! This tyre has been seen on some of the BMW, Mercedes and Audi range. The braking distance is something that is noticeably reduced due to the increased footprint provided by the tyres tread section. The softer compound in used by this tyre doesn’t ...

Avon ZV5
Advantages: cost, grip, wear rate, avon racing pedigree Disadvantages: Avon not the name they once were other than that no disadvantage.
These tyres come in a range of sizes but my review is of the 17" 215 profile type.
These tyres can be picked up at Farmer Autocare at a bargain £40 each.
I've tried many types of tyres on my 17" wheels and these Avons have been the best performing so far. As budget tyres go they grip far better than some premium tyres I've tried.
I've had these tyres since October, so in the last 4 months they've been subjected everything a Scottish Autumn and ... ...tyres grip like your car is on rails and I have never found the limit of their aheasion. I don't typically drive too hard, but I do enjoy a spirited drive along my favourite quiet backgroads and these tyres gripped so well that in the first few days I was turning corners quicker than expected and having to correct my steering angle as the car truely darts into corners.
In wet conditions the tyres grip well, albeit not as well as in the dry, and ...

*Grip like a fishwife, & Better looking! Edited ..
Advantages: Grip in wet. Roadholding. Disadvantages: Price is always a disadvantage, but not too expensive in this case.
I write this review from my own experience, I have gone into a corner too fast and left the road. Nothing to do with the tyres, it was all my fault, and I was just glad the tyres were as good as they were, otherwise I may not have been here to tell the tale. I have been driving cars for 32 years and trucks just thirty. I have had a few skids in that time, (before ABS) and think that tyres are more important than steering or brakes. For the first ... ...of tyres for my car, and my choice was Continentals. The actual model (Conti Premium Contact) was chosen by my ex boss who is in the tyre trade, and I trust him. I was unimpressed by the fact that my tyres being sixteen inch were more expensive than fifteen, or even seventeens! Apparently this is due to supply and demand, they don't make as many sixteen inch tyres. In my case, the cost was £90 each fitted and balanced etc. I got a good deal but you ...

* I'm so tyred . .
Advantages: Good when dry, good in the wet. Disadvantages: Just the price of course.
...brand this time was Pirelli P7s. I was reminded of the fact that mine being sixteen inch, were a little more expensive than fifteens, or even seventeens! Apparently this is due to supply and demand, they don't make quite so many sixteen inch tyres. These were fitted on Vauxhall alloys, and all balancing weights were on the inside, where they should be, why is it most fitters put them on the outside?
I have shopped around, in local tyre fitters as ... ...would like to visit the Pirelli website, take a look here:-

New tyres require running in, and then checked as often as you can, both for pressure, and also wear. The modern trend is not to rotate your tyres onto different axles, and while this does even out the wear, and make tyres last longer, the problem is that all of your tyres will wear out at the same time, and most people prefer to change two at ...
