I usually make snap decisions about things I probably shouldn't, and buying a car was one of them. I saw the car (a 51 plate Ford Focus) on the website on the Saturday night, and went in to see the car on the Sunday. After a quick chat with my girlfriend, I decided to go ahead with it. The salesman didn't seem to interested, and as soon as I said I would buy the car, he took my details and that was that. Then I went to get my detaiuls taken for finance. This was the hard part, as I was waiting for more than 4 hours in the waiting area. The financial consultant I talked to was very helpful. He showed me the terms they could offer. I had a quick look over it and said yes. He asked me if I was sure, and then pointed out the APR of 24%. He advised me not to go for the deal, and that it would be cheaper for me to go elsewhere for finance. This was very hinest of him! In the end, In paid a bigger deposit, and he managed to wangle me a cheaper deal at 10%. Fantastically helpful, and saved me £35 per month, or about 28%. All in all, the sales side was poor, but the car and the deal was very good, so recommended.
