halifax expresscash, dont even bother

Advantages: you can see your balances online
Disadvantages: hardly anywere accepts it

...teens, Halifax give you a Visa Electron. You can use the Visa Electron with most popular online retailers, like Amazon.co.uk and Play.com so dont be put off to much but using it in the High street can be a problem as not many high street stores accept it (although more are starting to). But you can just go to a ATM to withdraw up to £300 Not bad for a teen account. if you do have any idea of how to link it up to paypal that would be very helpful ...

Solo is poor at best...

Advantages: it makes you feel like you have a debit card.
Disadvantages: it fails to perform as a viable debit card when you need it most.

I gave this one star because I am from the United States. I have NEVER had such a hassle with a debit card in my life. The worst part for me is that I commute into central London and THE NATIONAL RAIL DOES NOT ACCEPT SOLO...it's the only card they don't recognize actually. I still have an account in the states and my debit card from there works fine to buy train tickets, but it adds a $10 fee for the transaction. I have been in very awkward moments ...

The least worst option

Advantages: Easy to use accepted widely
Disadvantages: Poor protection and high fees

PayPal in principle is fantastic, it allows for you to send and more importantly receive payments from individuals and organisations large and small in dozens of currencies, and the option to pay from a wide range of payment methods without having to reveal your card details. Yet it is in reality a deeply flawed product, marred by high fees, and poor buyer protection, when it works it can be fantastic but when things go wrong, it is you who suffers. ...
...first one is payment protection, PayPal only provides payment protection for physical goods, not for services and non-physical goods. Moreover, they now make it so your payment method defaults to your bank account, which means unless you take the effort to change it each and every time, you can’t rely on the protection offered by your credit card. So you are sacrificing your own security and gaining nothing in return, while PayPal gains the advantage ...

All your cards covered for just £12!

Advantages: All your cards, wallet, bags, passport, drivers license, NIC protected
Disadvantages: No website to add cards

...driver's license, your National Insurance card and add a few store cards and some cash and you have an average persons wallet or purse. What is CPP? Let's say your out doing your Christmas shopping and someone decides to steal your wallet. You have a bunch of bank and credit cards plus some cash in it. If you live say ten minutes drive away it's going to take you ten minutes to get home. You then have to find a number of bank statements to call ...
...Card Protection Plan or CPP is like insurance for your bank, store, credit and other cards you might have in your purse or wallet. It also insures any money in your wallet/purse and the wallet/pulse and/or bag. Instead of calling all them banks up you simply fill in a simple form with CPP and pay them £12. On the form you just write down the name on the card, the card or account number and the bank or company who it's issued by. You can also add ...

Barclays Online Money Transfer Service

Advantages: Speed, Exchange Rates & Cost
Disadvantages: Only £3000 in a day.

Well, Barclays has also launced an Online Money Transfer service to India and it is pretty good as compared to the other money transfer operators which offer similar service. Here is what I fond out after using the service. - Fully Online Money transfer - Best exchange rates in the market - transfer upto £3000 per day - Funds transfer within 1 working day into the India account (Fantastic!) - Adding as many Barclays Bank India beneficiaries as ...
...my transaction - Email alerts to keep on every step of my transaction - ZERO Fee!! Now, What I exatly did was that I transfered £300 each via two providers. I landed with INR3000 more and 2 days faster with Barclays Online Money transfer service than the other one. Thats,£42.85 pound better in a £300 pound transfer. ...
