To nurse or not to nurse, that is the question.
Review of Nursing (General, Adult) by dynamicnurse

Advantages: Too many to view.
Disadvantages: Too many to view.

...a more general view on nursing as opposed to the others who settled on a more specific part of nursing. What does nursing involve? The care and support of people, in whatever manner they need and/ or want. This may involve basic care such as aiding in washing and dressing; or helping them to take their medication, or just by simply encouraging and enabling them to lead as independant a life as possible that is dependant on any physical/ emtional ...
...nursing are there? Nursing can occur in any number of settings, such as hospital; home; nursing/ residential care; schools; factories, or anyway where health related issues can occur - even in Macdonalds. This brief overview lists the ranks that nurses may go through: Healthcare assistant (the basic level, but who probably do more hands on care with just the same amount of knowledge as a higher level member of staff but don't like to admit it). Au pair ?… non merci !
Review of Au Pair by Isabelle2201

Advantages: it's relatively easy to find a host family
Disadvantages: you don't know where you're landing

...of September to be an au pair in England. I must say that I was over excited by the idea of spending a school year in a country whose language has been a real passion for me for almost a decade ! I had decided to look for an au pair family on the internet, although some people had told me that there were agencies dealing with this kind of jobs. I had found two reasons (which I thought were good enough) not to use the services of an agency : first, ...
...plenty of them… Their former au pair had left the day before… honestly, I thought she had done the work. The mom reproached this to me saying that I wasn’t helping her much and that if I didn’t want to do it I’d have to let her know so that they organise a different way… if you had had somebody talk to you the way she did, I bet you would have answered something… I didn’t, I had not expected to be spoken this way… I just swallowed her words and didn’t ... Caring the older way...
Review of Geriatric Nursing by dynamicnurse

Advantages: See text.
Disadvantages: See text.

This review is on geriatric nusring, and all that goes with it. Or rather, just for those of you who like to know otherwise this is the care of elderly people. Geriatric nursing is a rewarding career to have, but is more than likely the worst one to work in in terms of conditions annd pay. But hey ho, let's take a little walk down the road of geriatric nursing towards that light at the end of the tunnel - but only to find that it is some person coming ...
...it. Jobs within geriatric nursing can be found in any number of different settings, from caring for people in their own homes; to day care centres; to care homes, to hospital settings. Take a look in your local phone book, also speak to people about the best places in which to go. Then go for it! ... Read review

Translating as a second income
Review of Translater by happy_hamster

Advantages: well-paid and calm
Disadvantages: see opinion

Judging by my clumsy style, you won’t be surprised to know that the degree I have reads: Artistic Translation from Spanish to Russian, prose and poetry. Living outside Russia (and Spain), I certainly have very little future in particularly this profession. Notwithstanding, I have spent almost all my weekends for the last seven years translating restaurant menus, brochures, catalogues, contracts, private letters and all the other interminable ...
...translating: it’s considerably well-paid, and you are never out of work. As in any job, some initial contacts are very useful, but even if you don’t have them, it’s quite easy to get employed via the Internet, in virtually any country. The third good thing is a total lack of stress. Once you have learnt to correctly evaluate the difficulty of a text and how long it will take you to finish the job, revise it twice and be satisfied, ... Read review

LOCAL HOUSING ALLOWANCE DOES IT AFFECT YOU?
Review of Local Government by thegreengoblin

Advantages: MORE CHOICE TO PRIVATE TENANTS
Disadvantages: None

This review is not about Local Governemnt but about the Local Housing Allowance. The below is an important change that takes place from April 08 regarding the introduction of the Local Housing Allowance and may be of interest to anyone who claims housing benefit or landlords who receive housing benefit. It is in my simple terms what it involves, for more information regarding Local Housing Allowance I suggest you contact your local authority. Local ...
...rent from a private landlord. Local Housing Allowance has been around since November 2003 and has now been tested in 18 local authorities known as pathfinders which included Edinburgh,Leeds,Blackpool and Norwich. However from 07 April 2008 Local Housing Allowance has been rolled out nationally. So who does it affect? Local Housing Allowance will only apply to tenants who live in properties rented from private landlords, and who are making their ... Read review
