site no longer there??
Advantages: none Disadvantages: just a search portal with popup ads
I visited this site after reading a couple of the reviews here on ciao and welllllll............. my advice don't even bother visiting. I was expecting to find a whole bunch of advice and links to help the would be homeworker but instead I got one of those rubbish search portal style ad pages promoting mortgages and finance. My firefox browser blocked 2 popups and to be honest this is not the sort of site I would allow popups on. My guess was some ... ...rubbish to trash your computer but for the purposes of this review I reluctantly allowed the popups on this site and refreshed the page. This time I only got 1 popup the flashy you have won a laptop popup.
It's possible that homeworkingideas haven't been following their own advice and have failed to pay there hosting fees. I saw no advice on avoiding scams like the other reviews stated only scams.
Avoid this site like the plague ...

Doctor's in the House!
Advantages: Fun layout, large scope Disadvantages: Not much detail
I came across doctorjob.com due to its prominence in graduate-type magazines. Certainly its advertising budget must be pretty hefty. That said, it's a well-designed and informative site, with life guides on just about everything the student could want to know, information relating to the various career options, details of postgraduate courses and links to relevant websites. It's a fount of information, and is further boosted in the ratings by its ... ...It's also a genuinely fun site to use, with surveys, "time wasters", and a monthly auction, in which one can use the electronic "doctorjob dollars" offered around the site to bid for interesting prizes. The biggest criticism, however, is the lack of detail, brought about by its sheer size. It is difficult, it seems, to be comprehensive and detailed all at the same time. Its career guides, for example, merely scratch the surface though, it is true, ...

IS THERE ANY OUT THERE??
Advantages: Good advice Disadvantages: All advice and no jobs
As a full time mum, I have been on the lookout for a job that can be done from home for quite some time now and so having become a Ciao member, I'd thought I'd check out what other members have to say on the subject.
I worked as a secretary before having my kids I have carried out endless searches on the net for jobs involving typing which could be done at home so it was inevitable that I came across Homeworkers.com as other Ciao members have. I've ... ...the site has proven useful with providing loads of information on how to avoid falling into the pitfalls of 'fake' jobs which always claim you'll make your first million from but don't actually tell you how you'll do it. The web site seems to be a great believer in 'being your own boss' and starting up your own little business empire but what is there to do? I'm not the sales type and don't have cash for starting up a business - if I did, I wouldn't ...

Education Jobs
Advantages: You can search for exactly what you're looking for Disadvantages: Lists out-of-date jobs
This is an excellent jobsearch facility for teachers of any subject, or anyone who has experience in education (e.g. classroom assistants) and is looking for a job within the education service. This is a well organised site, where practically all teaching jobs are advertised. You can search by location, by salary, school type and subject, and you can also add in keywords to focus your search. Originally, Scotland was listed as one place, with no ... ...have realised that Scotland is a bit bigger than one wee village.
There are jobs here for all subjects, for primary, middle, and secondary schools, for independent and grant maintained schools. There is a section for special education, and also non-teaching jobs.
There are denominational and non-denominational schools, further education colleges and universities. Even prison education services advertise their jobs in the TES.
The site lists the ...

"Those who can...TEACH!"
Advantages: Lets you know everything there is to know about entering teaching Disadvantages: Could potentially recruit the wrong people into the profession
Those who can…teach!
Canteach.gov.uk is the government’s teacher training recruitment website. It is operated and promoted by the Teacher Training Agency for the UK and Wales.
The site is designed to recruit people to the teaching profession and provide information on how to get there.
I think the site’s homepage has a good summarising statement, and I know people will hound this op for simply copying and pasting this, but I ... ...fire up the interests, imaginations and hopes of a new generation. What other career comes close? You will be well paid, have great career prospects and you may receive financial help to train.”
Being a Teacher
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It tells you why teaching is a good profession, why it might appeal to you, and how it compares to other careers.
The site then goes through considerations you would want to make, such as what age group you would want ...
