...gels, I opted for the Carex one as I knew the name so trusted it would be a good quality product.
Packaging: The bottle is a clear bottle which has a simple design on it that gives you all the info you need:
- Carex Hand Gel Sensitive - 100 Applications per bottle - Fast Drying - Kills 99.9% of bacteria - Ingredients on the back and directions on how to use
It has a snap shut lid ... ...everything covered in gel.
How to use: Simply remove the lid, apply a couple of squirts to your hand (amount depends on size of hands, I find two is more than enough for me) then rub your hands together ensuring you rub it to the front and back. You will find that this gel dries extremely quickly (dries whilst rubbing). It leaves you hands feeling fresh and clean and they dont feel sticky.
I was out one Sunday with my little girl and I needed to change her nappy but could not find any public toilets to enable me to do this so I had to change her in the back of my car. I had to use baby wipes to clean my hands which was not ideal as they left my hands wet and I had no way of drying them apart from my jumper.
This made me realize that I needed something that I could carry with me which I could clean my hands with and not have to carry a towel with me everywhere. I had a look around my local supermarket and came across a couple of different hand gels, I opted for the Carex one as I knew the name so trusted it would be a good quality product.

It has a snap shut lid so will never come off in your handbag and get everything covered in gel.

It has a slight smell of alcohol to it but this soon goes. Also on the bottle it does say sensitive but as it has alcohol in it if you have a cut it does tend to sing a little (at least you know the cut will be clean though).
Cost: This item cost me £1.45 which I thought was a very reasonable price for a bottle that will give me 100 applications
This hand gel is pretty much ideal for any situation, I use it for after nappy changes but my sister in law has two slightly older children and she uses it on a daily basis, its perfect for using after they have been to the toilet (incase they don't wash there hands properly) or if they have colds and are sneezing or coughing into their hands, because it kills so much bacteria you know that once they have used it there hands are nice and germ free.
Of course this gel does not replace hand washing, it will not remove dirt from you hands but it is an ideal product to use alongside washing your hands or to use if you are caught in the situation where there is no sink or soap etc.
I now go nowhere without this little bottle and because it's so small it takes up hardly any room in your bag.
Essential item if you have children, kills bacteria so you know their hands are clean
Advantages: Tiny so easy to carry around, handy when out and about, no lasting smell or taste, dries quickly Disadvantages: Very slippery when first applied
Carex Sensitive Hand Gel is an antibacterial gel that you use without the need for any water. It kills 99.9% of bacteria and is fast drying. The hand gel comes in a small and light transparent bottle that has a pump top so you can easily squeeze out the amount that you need. The packaging states that it lasts for 100 applications per bottle and I have noticed that it does take a while for me to finish the bottle. Just a small squirt of the gel is ... ...why I stick to this Carex hand gel. I used this when I was backpacking and it came in surprisingly handy, especially when I was camping in places like the Outback or Fraser Island in Australia where there was no proper bathroom facilities. I didn't want to eat food with filthy hands so this provided an excellent alternative to washing my hands. As it's so small it's easy to carry around in your bag or even in your pocket. I am never without one now ...

Advantages: Leaves hands germ free, smelling great and feeling good Disadvantages: None
I brought a bottle of Carex Hand Gel last week on the recommendation of a friend. I purchased it from Boots but it is available to buy from stores such as Superdrug, Savers, Lloyds Chemists etc. Apart from when visiting hospitals, using hand gel is something which I have never really thought about in the past, but with all the negative press nowadays on virus's such as MRSA and Swine Flu being on the increase then I have now realised that little ... ...~The Product~ Carex Hand Gel comes in a handy 50ml clear plastic bottle, making it a perfect size to carry around in your handbag. It comes with a pump-action spray lid with a nozzle that is able to turn 360 degress. The gel itself is clear and quick thick. There are two things which really surprised me about this product. The first is the smell. It is the same type of product that is used in hospitals now, though obviously not as strong and harsh, ...

Advantages: no need for water, kills 99.9% of bacteria Disadvantages: the smell, may make hands feel dry
I first brought this product for going camping with as it's never easy to make sure hands are clean especially when you're eating and cooking in a field where you are miles away from buildings and tap water ect. But now i use it all the time and the 50ml bottle is small enough for me to take everywhere. But beware, it doesn't shouldn't become a substitute of washing hand but with the flu epidemic ect it just gives you that extra security of having ... ...useful is that there is no need for water or drying as it dries almost instanting. All you need to do is remove the lid and push the pump once in your hands, which gives you just the right amount of gel to kill all the bacteria. Even though it is made for more sensitive skin and is less harsh (less alcohol in it) than others, i did find it dries my hand and i needed to moisturise more often. If it gets on a cut, it also stings quite a lot. There ...

Advantages: no need for water, can be applied any where Disadvantages: none
With the outbreak of swine flu my employer decided to hand these out to every employee. This cost £1.49 for a 50ml bottle which I thought was reasonable and it says you can get up to 100 applications per bottle and it is fast drying. It also claims to kill 99.9% of germs so I thought this would be a handy thing to have in the fight against germs.
The advantage of this is that there is no need to use water and I can apply this at my desk. There is ... ...is more than enough. The liquid is clear and there is a clean, plesant smell to it and it is just a simple thing of rubbing it onto your hands to clean them. The liquid does dry quickly and you don't get any drips. It appears to moisterise my hands too which is an added advantage and there is no need to dry on a towel (or my clothes). This is an excellent product to use particularly before lunch time and during the day to keep the germs from my key ...

- Price and Packaging ?
The bottle is small enough to fit in to a large style handbag, obviously not a tiny evening bag! It is a transparent plastic bottle with lid. Once the lid is off there is a plunger style top from which the gel is dispensed.

- Appearance, Smell & Texture -
This is a gel-like substance which when applied to your hands and gently rubbed in, has a lovely cool feel to it. It is easily rubbed in and absorbed instantly without leaving a sticky residue. As well as this it has a great fresh, clean smell to it.
When applied it has no obvious colour to it but in the bottle it has a very pale green tinge to it.
