I brought a bottle of Carex Hand Gel last week on the recommendation of a friend. I purchased it from Boots but it is available to buy from stores such as Superdrug, Savers, Lloyds Chemists etc. Apart from when visiting hospitals, using hand gel is something which I have never really thought about in the past, but with all the negative press nowadays on virus's such as MRSA and Swine Flu being on the increase then I have now realised that little measures such as using hand gel can help stop the spread of germs and bacteria in my household, making my family less likely to become infected with such diseases.
~The Product~ Carex Hand Gel comes in a handy 50ml clear plastic bottle, making it a perfect size to carry around in your handbag. It comes with a pump-action spray lid with a nozzle that is able to turn 360 degress. The gel itself is clear and quick thick.
There are two things which really surprised me about this product. The first is the smell. It is the same type of product that is used in hospitals now, though obviously not as strong and harsh, so I was worried that it would smell pretty nasty, as these types of products tend to. However, after it is applied it becomes evident that this product doesn't smell bad at all. It has a nice light perfumed scent to it that actually smells really nice. Its almost a flowery scent, but is only just evident so its not too strong. Its just right in my opinion.
The second thing that surprised me is that it didn't leave my hands feeling dry as when I have used a similar product on hospital wards, it always ends up leaving my skin feeling dry and irritated. If anything, Carex hand gel left my hands feeling the total opposite and they actually felt quite dry and moisurised too.
~Price~ For a 50ml bottle of Carex Hand Gel, I paid just 99p a bottle. In my opinion this is great value for money. The bottle itself states that you can get 100 applications out of the bottle. You only need a very small amount each time you apply, around the size of a 5 pence piece is sufficient, hence the reason why the bottle will last you so long.
~Summary~ I have no hesitation in recommending this product to anyone. It leaves your hands feeling soft and slightly moisturised as well as smelling rather sweet too. The bottle claims to kill 99.9% bacteria so to find a product that can help keep my family safe from nasty bugs and virus's that are plagueing the country at the moment then I'm all for it.
A really great product from Carex. I personally have found no fault with it whatsoever. My hands are clean, bacteria free and feel and smell great. I take it everywhere with me in my handbag nowadays as you really can't be too careful.
Highly recommended. 5 out of 5!!
