Yesterday it was plain old Carlsberg tonight it's the export, courtesy of my mother who's sharing her booze whilst we have some Chinese food she's got from Asda. So again, lets do the intelligent thing and...review it.
Carlsberg are one of the cheaper lagers, this ones a bit more pricey than the normal “green can version”, infact talking about the colours, this one inverts the normal can and is silver with a green trim. This time the can comes in the smaller and more average size of 440ml, and is 5% ABV so a far stronger drink than it's little weak brother (3.8%). The company we're first brought to my attention as being sponsors of Liverpools shirts when I was little but unbeknownst to me they were an alcoholic beverage manufacturer as opposed to just a name on a football shirt (I was young). The company were founded over 160 years ago (1847) in Copenhagen, Denmark, by J. C. Jacobsen who named the company after his son, Carl. The company has grown into being the 4th largest brewery in the world with over 45,000 workers and currently has a whole host of brands from the “Carlsberg” lagers to San Miguel, Holsten, Okocim, Jacobsen and Kronenbourg.
So onto this drink in particular, the drink is a honey colour with a strongish lager scent that makes it's little brother seem incredibly smell-less (almost as weak as it was tasteless). The drink has been chilled in the fridge (well until I opened it and poured it into a glass). Again For those who didn't read the previous review, canned drinks all need pouring into a glass as far as I'm concerned as drinking from a can makes the drink too cold and taints the flavour to a point where the predominant taste is metallic and not the beverage. This also means that it's easier to see the true colour of the drink, and how much of a pint glass it fills up.
The drinks taste is refreshing and you can taste something though it's quite hard to describe what it is. I was tempted to call it a raw cereal taste, but lets go with the barley and hoops which give the drink a lot more flavour than the Carlsberg “lager” (which was so uninteresting and tasteless that it wasn't really up to much at all). The drink is also much smoother than it's tasteless relation which had a kick at the end, this goes down with no concern able after taste and the extra alcohol isn't tasted just felt after a few. At 2.2 units a can, this is to be rather expected though it's not going to get you drunk from 1 or 2 if you drink a 6 pack you'll be well on the way to a merry old night.
The drink is the middle in strength between the green canned Lager and the super-strength “Special Brew” (9% ABV) which is basically the quickest way to drink a lager to get drunk. So as for the Carlsberg range this is probably the best for an normal evenings drink, though Kronenbourg or Okocim would be the preferred option from the company. Whilst mentioning Okocim, their stronger version (Okocim Mocne) is probably one of the best drinks on their repertoire.
Summary: A decent drink, much better than the cheaper version and an ideal drink for a night out, though far from the best drink. If you like your lagers give it a go as it's better than Carling and Fosters, but only just. Don't expect it to rival your Kronenbourgs or Heineken as it's not up to that standard.
Advantages: Good adverts Disadvantages: Poor packaging, no complexity
...recent opinion I wrote concerning Carlsberg PREMIUM Lager, it was suggested to me that Carlsberg EXPORT Lager was quite a decent beer. Now that's the sort of challenge this site could use more of. So at the first opportunity, I rushed off to Safeway as fast as my little legs would carry me, and purchased a 500ml bottle of CARLSBERG EXPORT LAGER for the not unreasonable price of 99p. I won't bore you with any facts about the brewery as I've already ... ...opinion. Nor will I go into any detail about the bottle...save to mention it's green and by a remarkable co-incidence, has the words of the product boldly displayed on the label. Likewise, in keeping this opinion succinct, compendious, even terse - but not laconic, I won't deviate from the opinion with an interlude.... • THE POUR • It froths up nicely, and forms a pure white head which sits proudly on top of a clear, pale golden body. ...does go on though, and Carlsberg now has 3 distinct products.
The one I am now talking about is
Carlsberg Export which is 5 percent (haven’t tried that one yet) so obviously I can’t comment.
Now for those of you who do like a good lager Carlsberg have a very good one, in fact I would say excellent. I have tried this in my Dad’s house, unfortunately I can’t afford it.
It is of course ,Carlsberg Special Brew, 9 percent volume ... ...the one mentioned earlier. I would definitely recommend that one. But that is going into a different topic about beer so I will shut up.
Where was I Oh yes, if you have any queries or complaints about Carsberg, you should contact.

I’ll just give you a very quick run down now.
Ok if finances are a little bit short. (fairly cheap)
No taste.
You would be ashamed to offer one to your boss.

Advantages: Nice Tasting Best Carlsberg Drink Disadvantages: Clashing with my comment earlier lager is lager not much improvement can be made
carlsberg export is in my opinion by far the best drink of the danish breweries franchise, there are other drinks like carlsberg special brew and carlsberg premium, but they are not a touch on export, The UK's Most Popular pub chain even stopped supplying Rival Drinks Franchise Carling and decided to supply carslberg on a seven year exlusive deal, in no way am i putting down carling as in my opinion they are equally great, and i would recommend both ... ...get no finer lager from carlsberg than export. But if you are going for the strength of the drink i would recommend you with the special brew. The stronger of the carlsberg drinks. If you are looking to get straight up drunk then just drink the special brew, but if you want to mix the power with the nice flavour it is export all the way im afraid. Packaging The Packaging isnt a topic im going to stay on, ill just say that carlsberg should just stick ...

Advantages: Tastes like an angel weeping on your tongue Disadvantages: I know you pay for quality but at nearly a quid a can it burns quite a large hole in you pocket
It's amazing how different Carlsberg and Carlsberg export actually taste.
They are two premium strength beers made obviously, by the same company. But in the taste department there is really only one winner.
You could be suckered into thinking that as they are both Carlsberg beers, then they would probably taste very similar. This however, is definately not the case.
I was never a big fan of the original Carlsberg because it always tasted a little ... ...However, with the Carlsberg export variety the taste is refreshing, crisp and clean and extremely palatable. It contains just the right amount of gas and is therefore, not too fizzy and not too flat.
It's no wonder the danes always kick off in the advertisements when one of their fellow countrymen exports it to another country. I'm sure i'd be same..lol
The alcohol content is excellent too, 5% per can which is nearly a whole percent more than carlsberg ...

...had a special offer on Carlsberg Export. Export Strength lager will help me to forget my troubles I thought! Did it? Here goes....
Carlsberg Export comes in a 440ml can and cost me £2.99 for a four pack. The cans are a deep gold colour with the brand name and general details written on in dark green and there was a crown emblem above the name. This is because Carlsberg are apparently brewers "by appointment to the Royal Danish Court" The alcohol ... ...brewed quality beers since 1847. At this point I was thinking that as this product is strong and royally approved, I couldn't go wrong. So I cracked one open (after a painstaking 15 minute wait for them to chill in the freezer) and.........
how wrong I was.
I should state at this point that my preference is for milder tasting lagers such as Corona and ...

Advantages: Very reasonably priced, execellent body and taste. Compares as best buy with other beers of same volume. Disadvantages: Not avaiable, as far as I an aware, in bottles.Lager generaaly taste better in bottle or poured into a glass
Having recently reviwed the tatse of several lagers over the festive period, by far the best in terms of quality and price was CarlsbergExport, for a full flavoured easy to drink beverage. The lager is best appreciated from a cold glass rather than the can and in comparison to other 5% beers, this had its own unique, refreshing smooth tatse. The distinctive taste was very welcome and a surprising change from the 'sameness' of other, should we say belgium and french beers! I would strongly reccommend this as the favoured beverage for the novice drinker, which of course should not be taken in excess. If only it was avaiable more widely as a bottled beer rather than just in a can! ...
Advantages: Strong, flavoursome, refreshing, enjoyable Disadvantages: Headaches from hell if you drink too much
In 1664 a young Frenchman looking for something to do to keep himself out of mischief decided to have a go at brewing beer. Jérôme Hatt was awarded the status of Brewer-Cooper, which meant he could brew and sell his own beer, and quickly set up a brewery in Strasbourg. Over the last 342 years the brewery has gone from strength to strength, today holding a reputation as brewer of one of Europe's leading Premium Lagers, amongst other brands, and appearing on many a pub and bar's lo- or hi-liners. Like other premium lagers, including Stella Artois, Grolsch and CarlsbergExport, Kronenbourg is a strong lager and its strength can lead to some unfortunate situations... here's five things you shouldn't say when you've been drinking Kronenbourg 1664.

Here I am forced into drinking lager. By definition I am a bitter man. Not a description made by some of the women I have dated but a fact about the type of beer I prefer.
Actually even now I am a telling a lie of Blairesq proportion. My favourite drink is draft Guinness. After coffee that is. No I don't drink Guinness after coffee I mean coffee is my favourite drink?.. English is such a crap language in which to express oneself!
So how is it that I sit at my computer drinking a bottle of CarlsbergExport premium lager? Well partly because a four pack needs drinking and I had the other three whilst watching tele! So I drunk them 'cos they were in the fridge so the real question is why did I buy them? ANSWER ?..DUNNO
I went into the local convenient store. As it happens it is a CO-OP. It was on the way home from work ...
