I bought this kettle in a twin pack (Carlton Twin pack -model K5000) which contained a
Carlton K2100 cordless jug kettle and a Carlton CT 2200 cool wall toaster.

COST: If I remember correctly about £20 from Currys
Features: The kettle has a filter and a capacity of 1.7 litres. The toaster features a 'cool wall' and 'electronic browning' (a knob you turn to determine how cooked your toast gets) and a crumb tray. Mine are both White but I don?t know if they come in other colours.

Good Points: Cheap and easy to use, these are very basic products.
The kettle has a large red light that switches on when the kettle has been turned on which is great when you are bleary eyed and unfocused first thing in the morning.

Bad Points:
The kettle comes with a very short power cord connecting the base unit to the plug. This means that the maximum distance the kettle can be from the plug socket is about 30 cm. This is very awkward if you have a poorly located wall socket.
But that isn't my main gripe with the product. My main problem is that the kettle is actually quite dangerous.

The kettle has a lid that flips up when you slide back a button on the handle. About 3 times out of ten when the kettle boils the lid flips up on its own. When this happens the boiling water spits up out of the open lid and allover the nearest surfaces. When this happens the also fails to switch its self off. The first time this happens I had actually left the room and when I came back in the room was literally filled with steam, there was about a 1-foot thick cloud of steam blanketing the ceiling of the room, which was quite shocking.
