Advantages: Heats up, gives steam shots to achieve refined loose curls Disadvantages: Dpes not have ionic technology or ceramic plating so could damage hair
...This product is great for achieving loose curls, the high temperature achieves refined curls and works best when hair is wrapped the top to botttom. The additional steam shots brings the curls along. This and electrically powered tong but doesnt have any temperature settings and is not ceramic coated or hav ionic technology, therfore I would not recomend using this product frequently as it will damage your hair. This product is very light and easy to use, and does not requiuire a user manual to operate. The tong should not be applied on wet hair. The product is not poor as it acheives the job it set out to do but there are many other curlers who have ceramic plating at the same price which will achieve curls and protect ahir from damage....

...I got this on special offer from Boots for about £16 and it has a lot of features. The handle has 3 switches, one has 3 heat settings and one has 3 power settings, the last is a cool shot button. the highest power setting is quite strong and dries hair fast. the ionic feature is supposed to stop hair drying out too much. I'm not sure if it does but my hair (shoulder length) doesn't seem to get too dry even on the highest settings. the cool button is useful but tends to blow the hair too much even on low settings.
It is quite heavy and long and I kept hitting my head iwth it to start with (!) but it seems solid. The only thing I dislike is its too easy to knock the switches when in use.
overall I am pleased, it dries my hair quickly and looks like it will last OK as long as the switches don't give out. Some people might find it too...

Advantages: Looks good Disadvantages: Thermostatic "cut-out"
...I thought that this would be great, having long hair. It should dry my hair quicker than my old dryer, due to the ionic technology. It should do so without causing any damage. I should be able to style my hair with confidence.
Should.
The dryer cuts out within a minute of using it. You then have to switch it off, wait for the 'click', switch it on and start again. It gets tedious after the first five times.
I'm taking it back tomorrow. I've given the dryer 3 chances, all the same result (eventually). I wouldn't mind, but I haven't even styled my hair yet!! I suppose that's where the damage limitation is then!
There really isn't anything more to add. Sorry folks....

I purchased the Vidal Sassoon VS881 ionic hair straightener from a local Argos shop for £29.99 (their standard price) around one year ago. I picked it because it promised me state of the art ionic technology that locks in moisture, ceramic plates that... more
