If your lips are slightly dry or chaps, it does sting slightly to begin with, but I find this usual of all Carmex products. Comes in handy click and use tube, much easier to use than it's lip balm pot.
As this is easily absorbed I found it very easy to wear it under lipstick or lipgloss.
Advantages: Last for a long time Disadvantages: Slightly overpriced

Lip moisturizer and sunscreen in one, paid £5.99 for one, good price, as it lasts for ages, and a thin film over your lips is all that is needed. It is also very uickly and easily absorbed into the skin. A smooth texture which feels and smells great! (tasted a bit strange though, so avoid licking lips at all costs.
Claims to sealsin lip moisture and helps to prevent drying of lip tissue. With an SPF 15. Great for Hot british weather.

Advantages: Value for money, softening, great smell Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
Carmex was developed in the 1939's and is based on natural products. A combination of menthol, camphor and vanilla give it a distictive smell and tingle when applied. Deisgned as a treatment for dry, cracked lips and coldsores although I've also used it for madding moisture to extremely dry skin or dry cuticles
Although carmex is available as a pot, tube or stick, I personally prefer the stick as it's easily applied without getting your fingers ... ...not long term, I find carmex really softens and moisturises even after the balm itself has worn off. I have used a number of more expensive lipbalms and none provided the long term improvement that carmex has.
Carmex may not be suitable for everyone as it contains lanolin and salicylic acid.
Ingredients: Menthol, Camphor, alum, salicylic acid, fragrance, petroleum, lanolin, cocoa butter and a mixture of waxes
There is no animal testing for this ...

the best bee-stung lips of all of them!
The clickstick comes with a high SPF15 that's great for summer and skiing...and now has flavours for those who find the menthol and camphor medical hint to the original a bit strong! Its like Christmas to me!
I am a cosmetics junkie and no other product has a place in my heart like Carmex. I NEVER leave the house without it and cannot use another balm except in dire emergency! ...
Advantages: Flavour, Its Cold Sore related properties Disadvantages: Practicallity of fingers and jars. Price
!
The products they sell are mainly the Jar (as shown) the tube (which contains slighlty more than the jar, and the tube has an applicator, which means you dont get contaminants in the Carmex, like when you keep putting your finger in the Jar).
The third product is a Click-Stick, unique from the other two products as it has sunscreen SPF 15, which is ideal for surfers and snowboarders.
The product is sold in many major retailers for around £2.25 - £2.49 a unit, however if you shop around especilly eBay/online , you can pick up some real bargains, especially if you can get discounts for multiple purchase. On the Uk packaging it states 24m from opening, so thats a good 2 years in date....even though im sure many users will have it polished off well within a Month! ...
