Carnival Games Funfair on the Wii is an ideal title for the console with a wide range of games on the disc and despite being three years old it still is worth a look!
The premise of the game is, as suggested in the title, giving people a chance to play 25 carnival favourites ranging from my personal favourite the Kentucky derby to darts to ring toss etc. Its for one to four players, and most games only require one controller (with option of using more) so it’s a game all can play without the need for shelling out for a boatload of controllers. Additionally, it only requires the Wii remote.
The games themselves are all easy to play with simple instructions and a natural feel as if you were actually playing them. Its easy to learn for gamers of all standards anf the full family will be up and running within minutes.
The games are split into a range of areas and there are 25 in all with some needing to be unlocked by mastering others. Games include everything you can think of from a carnival title which includes the likes of ring toss, bowling, mini golf, knocking tins over, inflating balloons, Kentucky derby, basketball, test of strength and so on. Basically anything you have played at a carnival will be here and if you haven’t heard of some of them you soon will!
In single player the game revolves around winning tickets to use on the novelty machines including a fun fortune teller and love calculator which will provide giggles on a family night. And also can be spent on clothes and items for your character…sadly cant use Mii’s. These items are also unlocked via playing and reaching certain scores.
Mulitplayer is where the game comes to life though and it can get quite competitive. Some of the game could do with being much much longer as three turns each on some of the carnival fun isn’t enough and its often over too soon but the game does have unlimited potential for fun and at the low price you can currently get it for is well worth a punt! Might even rival Wii sports in your collection for best family title!
