they've all acted like A-list idiots - from the rude and obnoxious to the distastefully extravagant. From diva-like room service demands to embarrassing run-ins with the law, it proves some people have more money than sense and aren't afraid to show it.
...full of obsurd stories about celebrities across the globe. To be honest this usually wouldn't appeal to me, but I found myself buying a copy when it was released not too long ago. I'm a sucker for celebrity merchandising.

It's not that often that I will buy a book. Unless its a special book I will simply track down a copy from a library. Though even when I do buy books, they tend to be along the same lines: autobiographies, TV books, script books etc. Though recently I found myself buying a book I usually wouldn't even look at...
When I first fell in love with ITV lunchtime chat show 'Loose Women' back in 2007, I found myself becoming very fond of each and every panelist on the show. One of these is the lovely Carol McGiffin. That woman has done it all: radio, tv, magazines the lot. She is such an inspiration to me, and with her amazing personality and witty sense of humour, there's no wonder she's such an asset to Loose Women too. When I discovered Carol was writing a book, I got very excited indeed!
This book of Carol's is not an autobiography. Nor is it a book about Loose Women. In fact, it is a book full of obsurd stories about celebrities across the globe. To be honest this usually wouldn't appeal to me, but I found myself buying a copy when it was released not too long ago. I'm a sucker for celebrity merchandising.
The book, 'Celebrities Behaving Badly' is actually co-written, with Mark Leigh alongside McGiffin. Now I hadn't actually heard of Mark Leigh but doing a quick bit of researching I came to a conclusion that he is quite a popular comedy writer, with many books to his name such as 'Pets With Tourette's', The Book of Stupid Lists' and 'You Know You're a Child of the 80s When...'. I must admit they do sound interesting and might even be worthwhile buying!
Fully satisfied that this book had been written by good hands, it was time to inspect. The book sat in front of me, and my initial reaction was that it looked very peculiar indeed. The cover shows a caricature of a man and a woman, who I feel is most likely to represent Carol and Mark Leigh. As a piece of art it is not something I would enjoy, but for a book cover it is quite eye catching.
Once you get passed the bright red cover you will locate yourself at the contents page which describes what you will find within the 160 pages of the book. With a quick scan down it is clear to see that the book is going to be even marginally humorous, with the titles of the chapters alone being enough to crack a smile. After you skim over the pages about the authors, and the brief introduction, it is time to begin.
The chapters vary from 'Diva Demands' and 'Dumb and Dumber' right down to Anger Management'. Within each section you will find various anecdotes and information about unusual celebrity antics. There are some amusing quotes from celebrities too, such as Paris Hilton: “What's Walmart? Do they sell, like wall stuff?”. With each page it just gets better.
There are some unusual ones too, such as Nicole Richie throwing a party and refusing entrance to people if they weigh over 100lb...not only is that insulting and offencive, but the twat clearly doesn't understand the concept of BMI! Though on the whole this is a very pleasant and amusing book.
The book has an RRP of £7.99, though I managed to purchase it from Amazon.co.uk, which only cost me £5. It is definitely worth buying online if you can save a little bit of money. I think had this not been written by Carol McGiffin I would not have bought it, but I am pleased I did! It is definitely well worth the read, and in definitely makes you feel good about yourself too – I feel so much more normal now! Whether you are buying for the authors or buying for the humour, this is definitely worth having a look at.
