I first came across this beauty while in a duty free shop and was looking for something for all occasions. After spraying every square inch of my arms with different perfumes (most of which smelled the same), I decided not to bother with anything.
However, after a few hours I was recieving compliments on how good I was smelling - I would have been more flattered if I knew which perfume they were talking about! Then again there was only one perfume which I could still smell on my arms (which is a testament to it's staying power and strength if anything)- 212 for Men.
At first the smell isn't impressive (which is why I didn't bother buying it in the shop)- it's quite overpowering and wouldn't be worth buying if it didn't improve (which it most definately does).
After the alcoholic smell disappears, a very sweet, almost tangy Citrus smell comes through, followed by spices which give it a lot more character. This is a very pleasant smell but it is only after a good hour or so when the true scent shows its form.
It's impossible to compare it to something else because it is in a class of it's own- it's musky, spicy and fruity all at once- it smells warm, relaxing and very very sexy. From that description you might think it would be for romantic wear only but I wear it to college every day and have had many people asking what the hell is it that I'm wearing!
The bottle itself is unique and quite masculine which definately compliments what it holds. The "212" logo is made of blue glass which looks really cracking when you shine a light through it.
The 212 Men range has the usual products which you'd expect from a big name like Carolina Herrera. I've tried the Shower Gel and Deodorant Stick and reckon they do the name justice. 212 is also available in "Summer Editions" which deliver that signiture punch as soon as it's sprayed onto your skin but it lacks the longevity of the original.
212 is relatively inexpensive compared to other "big name" perfumes. I managed to track it down for £26.98/ 100ml inc. p&p- very good value for money.
Do yourself a favour and buy it- if not for yourself then for a man in your life- they'll love you for it!
