Review of Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll by joon

Advantages: make you think
Disadvantages: make you think

...I should speak about the book if I was following the CIAO rules but I think that speaking about the visual artwork generated by a reading can be more related to the book than a word analysis itself. For once, I want to speak about my artist work and this book inspired me a long time ago. My review is based on what I felt and what I created at the time. This was the press release for the exhibition: ------------------------------------------------------ “Alice in Wonderland” was one of Caroline Hilde’s projects when she was a Fine Arts student. At the time, she compared the character of Alice to that of a friend who was involved with drugs. Caroline’s friend, like Alice, was lost in another world. For this exhibition, Caroline decided to re-use her artwork from four years ago, inventing and adding new elements to it. Is "Alice... Read review

The Thieves of Ostia
Review of The Thieves of Ostia - Caroline Lawrence by ashir94

Advantages: Great read and good value for money
Disadvantages: Nothing at all

...The Thieves of Ostia is the first book in the series of the Roman Mysteries by acclaimed author, Caroline Lawrence. This tale, set in Roman times tells of four children, Flavia, Jonathan, Lupus and Nubia who go on the hunt for a mysterious dog - killer in the city of Ostia. They eventually find the killer and the four became good friends. There are 20 books in the series, the Thieves of Ostia being the first. So far, 11 of the 20 have been published. I would give it 10 out of 10 for this compelling and addictive book and think it is suitable for the age 10 - 12. This series is being turned into a BBC series in 2007. Caroline Lawrence's great website is www.romanmysteries.com.... Read review

Maybe Baby or perhaps an affair
Review of Baby Love - Martine Oborne by Evep

Advantages: Believable Characters, lots of tension and suspense!
Disadvantages: none

...Whilst this book is classed as modern fiction it has a more traditional feel to the style of the writer. It’s a brilliant read and full of suspense and tension and no, it isn’t a murder mystery! This book is one that’s fairly easy to get comfortable with straight off. The characters are clear and believable and the author really makes you feel the emotions the characters go through. Without giving too much of the story away, the main character is Caroline, who’s 35 and married to a workaholic named Richard. They have been married for 6 years but marriage becomes tough for Caroline as she desperately wants a baby but it seems as if Richard isn’t that bothered, preferring his work than supporting Caroline, when after a year of trying, she still doesn’t fall pregnant. They’ve tried every position... Read review
