Advantages Quick at coming out to measure up (but why wouldn't they?!)

Got carpetright out to measure up and quote me for a room and staircase. The guy didn't seem to take many actual measurements of the staircase, but came up with a figure of £490 for a carpet that was £12.99 a square metre.
Then got out my local carpet fitting company. They spent far longer actually measuring the dimensions of the stairs thoroughly and working out how they could use cuts from the room to use on the stairs and how to minimise waste. Final quote from them was £390 for carpet that was £15.99 a square metre.
Moral of the story: carpetright rip you off. They bang on about having the cheapest carpets and that they'll price match anyone else who has their carpets cheaper... but then they just charge huge amounts for the fitting. My local company includes fitting in the price of the carpet. So unless you plan on fitting the carpet yourself, go elsewhere.
