Advantages: So funny you'll wet yourself - buy in some own brand nappies Disadvantages: You may be forced to come to terms with your own behaviour
...quoted line 'I hate f****** pikeys'. Hating all things racist or discriminatory I gave an audible gasp when I saw this book and prepared to be offended. However, what I found instead was sheer joy.

'Oi, Pikey, A Celebration of Cheap Living' was written by Carrie-AnneBrackstone and Laura Bushell and published in 2005. I didn't part with good money for it - oh no! That would have been entirely unsuitable. Instead I scrounged it (along with a few dozen other freebies) from my friend who's the arts editor of a regional newspaper. Journalism is a great pikey career with lots of freebies.
If you can't find a copy in a charity shop or boot fair (classic pikey haunts) you can get one for list price of £9.99 or much cheaper on Amazon, cheaper still if you buy it second hand. It would be a dereliction of your...

Advantages: LYRICAL, GENTLE, A JOY TO READ AND A TIMELESS CLASSIC. Disadvantages: NONE WHAT SO EVER!
.... Aaaah!!!!
*****My Opinion*****
I love this book. There are others in the series all about Anne and Gilbert and their lives, and I love those too, but this one is special. Reading this book taught me that it's okay to dream, to get caught up in what could be, in all the possibilities of life. In fact, that it's important to dream and to hope and to ache for something that is not here right at this second. Always seeing the positive and the possibility of every situation is something that this book shows, through the main character of Anne, and it's something that I've carried with me all these years. There is always a silver lining, a rainbow, a ray of sunshine, and everything happens for a reason.
Anne of Green Gables is available at all good book shops as well as online at places like Amazon, for around the £5.00 mark.
Happy reading...
