Stephen King's - Carrie This book was published in 1974, and was his first book to be published but the 4th one her wrote; originally it was meant to be a short story but it then evolved into a complete novel.
There is some controversy about this book and in some school readings it was banned because of its themes and features.
The book uses real fiction documents like newspaper reports and other extracts to create the character of Carrie who is a 17-year-old girl from Chamberlain.
She is constantly bullied at school and everything keeps going wrong, when she puts herself out slightly more, someone always does something to ruin it, a chilling horror with many supernatural aspects, when it was created into film it was seen as quite scary and some say that it is still as scary today as it was back then even with the increasing amount of horror writings and film plots.
Her home life is not much better and has an obbsessive christian mother who shelters and mistreats her child, to enforce her values upon her.
I really enjoyed this book and have read it over a few times and it always gets better, the film version is also brilliant and i would definatly recommend this to read, Stephen King is a brilliant horror author and has many other brilliant novels.
I would definatly rate this book, thats why i believe it deserves a 5 star review, brilliant.

Review of Carrie - Stephen King
Advantages: A psychological thriller that will keep you turning the pages. Disadvantages: More narrative/less action than in previous Stephen King books.
Advantages: A nice gripping and readable novel ; A terrific tale of survival ; Very atmospheric ; The characters thoughts and feelings are projected well to the reader Disadvantages: Suddenly stops flowing towards the middle ; King can be slightly over obsequious towards the main character
