" A supremely feminine fragrance . A timeless blend of distinctive fruits like iced cherry and zesty bergamot blended with the spice of pink pepper , violet , jasmine and freesia , finished with warm amber , musk and sandalwood ."
I bought the 30ml EDT spray ( Rrp £29 ) for £19.99 .
When it arrived I opened ... ...do for the likes of Cartier .
As much time and effort has been put into preserving the integrity of the scent as has been put into inventing it in the first place
No one would go to this much trouble to fashion a bottle which is so beautifully designed just to fill it with a very ordinary fragrance .

Strangely enough I bought this perfume mainly because I collect beautiful bottles .
I scan a few web sites , look for the prettiest bottles and buy them at the cheapest price I can find .
After all , I might or might not use the product inside .. who knows , it could be absolutely foul , but as long as the packaging is fabulous I don't really care ! ( Just a note for any of you who think that I'm just finding ways to burn money , I used to collect jewellery , so this newer addiction is , by my standards , a cheap one ! )
I found this fragrance quite randomly whilst looking through the Supaperfume.co.uk website ,which has a huge range of products on offer I fell in love immediately with the sensual , red , curvy , slightly " apple-esque " bottle which is topped by a clear lid shaped like an open flower , inset at the centre with a sparkling crystal .
Some of the products listed on this site might confuse you . One 30 ml EDT will often be a higher price than an identical one of the same product , but if you read the symbols next to them you will find that the cheaper ones are " testers " . Grab these while you can as stocks are often quite limited ! They are produced by the fragrance companies to be used in stores by the counter staff and are the ones which you try before you buy . The fragrance is exactly the same strength and quality , but minus the fancy box , and the prices are usually unrepeatable .
The website states that testers may come without a lid , but as yet I have not received one incomplete in any way apart from the actual packaging , which is normally just a plain white cardboard box with " Tester " and the name of the product written on it .

When it arrived I opened the box just to reassure myself that the lid was indeed present ( an important part of the whole if you are planning on displaying it ) ! Despite my determination to simply inspect it and then put it in the cupboard along with all of the others , I found myself rolling the bottle between my hands . The shape is extremely sensual … round but with a few soft inset waves which ripple down to the base . It's smooth surface is almost " worry bead " like , and the weight of the glass container is a good indication of the overall standard of the product .
The cap , an open flower in shape , is completely three dimensional . Its individual petals overlap and flow together very naturally , and in the centre nestles a square ruby red crystal . Beneath this is the very well fitting bottle cap .
Some perfumes have quite loose , ill fitting tops , and this does allow air inside causing some deterioration of the fragrance over time , but that would obviously not do for the likes of Cartier . As much time and effort has been put into preserving the integrity of the scent as has been put into inventing it in the first place
No one would go to this much trouble to fashion a bottle which is so beautifully designed just to fill it with a very ordinary fragrance .
A month or so later ( long after the beautiful bottle was long forgotten and still dwelling in the recesses of my cupboard ! ) I was in town with my daughter when she saw an advertisement for " the new fragrance by the house of Cartier " . Yes , it was the Delices !
I had always assumed that the fragrances available on the discounted websites were older ones , not almost new releases onto the market . But was delighted to find that I had been possibly one of the first to own it ! As we didn't have time to stop so she could try it , I said she could sample mine when we got home , and thought nothing more of it .
So out of the dark corner of the cupboard it came . She opened the box , lifted out the bottle , removed the beautifully carved lid , and sprayed the fragrance lightly onto her forearm .
The most gorgeous aroma filled the air , and we both immediately leaned in to get a good lung full .
She muttered orgasmically " Aaaah …. Now that is sex in a bottle ! Fabulous ! " And then she stole it . ( But promised to save the bottle once it was empty …. how considerate ! )
After experiencing this amazing and highly unusual fragrance ( and promptly being robbed of it ! ) I just had to order another one for myself , and this one would definitely NOT be going into the cupboard until it was well and truly drained !
This time I checked around a few other websites before ordering and to my delight found an absolute bargain on Fragrancedirect.co.uk The 100ml Eau De Parfum ( Rrp £69 ) for just £40 ! More than double the amount of the first one , and extra strength to boot !
Their description of the fragrance is " Delices de Cartier is a fresh floral fragrance with notes of morello cherry, jasmine, orange-blossom, white peach and amber "
Again it stated " tester " but again it came complete with lid , but plainly boxed . This larger version has a deep ruby red lid with a clear crystal centre , so now I will have 2 different versions of the bottle to display side by side …. Bonus !
The fragrance itself ( and I am reviewing the 30ml Eau de Toilette ) is glorious . Very much a top note of pink pepper , which may put you off a little initially , but bear with it for a couple of minutes whilst it warms and settles onto your skin . The reward is worth the wait .
It quickly develops into a very complex but fascinating mix of sweet cherry and musk with undertones of vanilla and citrus …. an absolute explosion of sensations . It settles into one of the most distinctive scents I have ever discovered , one which , once you have experienced it for yourself is instantly recognisable should you cross its path again . However , at the moment I haven't encountered anyone else wearing it . The brand name of Cartier still holds quite an exclusivity , and its an easy assumption that the price will be equally exclusive .
This is possibly true in the general run of retail outlets , but I am sharing with you here the secret of real attainability … those wonderful websites !
Many times in the past month I have walked past people in shops and after a few steps they have reversed at high speed , tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I would mind awfully telling them the name of the amazing perfume I am wearing ! To the rest of the world you are deemed privileged , one of the lucky few to be able to afford top quality goods . For as soon as they hear the name Cartier they will probably dismiss the possibility of ever owning it .
But you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your fragrance probably cost less , or at most the same as , their less individual one . It is also , as with many of the better brands , extremely long lasting which adds to its overall value for money . Very little , if any , topping up is required unlike the cheaper fragrances . This one really can go all day ! It does not , in my experience , stain fabrics ( I am a devil for spritzing all over ! ) , but be wary of delicates or pure white if you are this way inclined .
" Delices " is suggested as evening wear , but I can wear the EDT in the day too , as a light spritz is sufficient to last through till evening . I then top it up with a squirt of the stronger EDP and I'm hot to trot .
The range of options is extensive in this fragrance … a 30 ml , 50 ml and 100ml EDT , the same sizes in the EDP , a 30ml Parfum natural spray as well as matching shower gel , body milk and body cream . All are available at good department stores or as previously mentioned through several excellent websites .
I have discovered other magical fragrances through my obsession with buying bottles , one being " Lolita " by Lolita Lempicka ( also available on the websites ) which any lover of Thierry Mugler's chocolatey " Angel " will adore , so maybe at some point I will review them too .
But for now and the foreseeable future , Delices De Cartier is my new all time favourite .
Advantages: Unique, delicate, collectibe bottle, not too fruity Disadvantages: Expensive, does not last long
...a bottle of Delices de Cartier as a Christmas present. I've sampled it before so here's the result.
=== The bottle ===
The beautiful, collectible cut glass bottle was inspired by the designer house's own 1920's jewellery range. A round vibrant red cherry shape bottle is every true collector's must have item. The lid is clear cut class in petal shaped and it has an metal ring around its neck that has Delices de Cartier engraved in it. The brilliant ... ...first fruity floral fragrance from Cartier is a sensual delight. I am usually critical with fruity perfumes because they tend to be overly sweet, cloying and basically drowning out all other delicate - notably floral notes. Delices de Cartier is not one of these; its fruitiness is transparent, meaning it is there but is independent and does not spoil the other notes from developing. The cherry note of the fragrance is immediately apparent; it is ...

bergamot. It is more 'ice tea' for me than cherry mousse, though the cherry is still distinctive and blends in well with the soft jasmine. The slightly peppery base gives the composition depth and it's rather transparent meaning it does not drown out the more delicate notes.
Conclusion
Overall, a fresh and light fruity fragrance from a quality designer. The only reason I'm giving it 4 / 5 is that it is not original but sculpted after its big sister 'Delices'. The composition is excellent and you may like it better than its counterpart.
