Cartoon network well what is it you may ask well for those that have not sussed it out by the title then here we go on a full run down of what a great channel it is not only for kids but for the child in you.

The Cartoon Network is available on Sky and Digitial TV channels usually free with a basic package and in my view is the best childrens channel around.
It plays cartoons 24 hrs a day which has really been a god send when my daughter has been unable to sleep because she was ill so in she got with me in bed and she watched and I slept.

The cartoons they show are a real mix of old classics that most people between 20-40 years old will remember and some new but very good ones.

THE CRAMP TWINS

This is a new one on and is fantastic it is about two twin brothers who are totally different one blue and one normal one evil the other good lots of swamp referances and a very cleanliness obsessed mother make for great fun especially when swamp weed is involved.
Suitable for all but 6+ is about right.

POWER PUFF GIRLS

Blossom,Buttercup and Bubbles are three girls created by the Professor for himself but he accidentally put in CHEMICAL X which has given the girls super powers and they fly around all day fighting crime on behalf of Townsville and the Mayor who of course has a Power Puff Hotline.
The crimanals they fight include MOJO JOJO the mad monkey,The Gangarine Gang and him the gay devil type creature.
Loads of fun and keeps the little ones attention for ages if you need some time to get housework done.

JOHNNY BRAVO

Everbodys favorite guy all he wants is a date and all he gets is a slap he loves himself to the heavens and it is great fun to watch him trying to pull.
He also has his own on screen radio show TOON>FM which gives viewers the chance to win prizes.

ANGELA ANACONDA

Not as the title may suggest anything to do with snakes but a sort of cartoon come film programme about a girl called you got it who has a real enemy at school in the form of Ninette Manour who is rich and spoilt.
Gina Lash the fat one and Johnny Eranie are her friends and are always out to avenge NINNIE POP as they call her.
Loads of laughs and Pizza eating here but my little one does'nt tend to take to it better for 5+ years.

DEXTERS LAB

Now this has to be my absolute favorite our small but very smart friend DEXTER has a lab in his room that nobody knows about where he creates the most amazing machines and robots but he is always hampered by his annoying sister DEE DEE who tip toes around his lab and is always trying to give him away and destroying his things.

TOM&JERRY

An all time favorite for us all i'm sure only problem here is that we tend to have seen all the episodes but the kids love it and TOM & JERRY's antics are always enjoyable to watch again and again.

DRAGONBALL Z

This really is an action packed cartoon based losely on the old adult cartoons but suitable for all ages best audience though I feel is 8+ as it does have quite a lot of fighting etc so the plot well magic powers compared in duels by alien looking creatures is the only way I can describe it really.

THUNDERBIRDS

They have just started to re-run all the old Thunderbird episodes and they are as great today as they were when I was a kid.
Thunderbirds for those who don't know is a puppet animation programme where international rescue are sent out to stop world domination etc in a series of vechiles great effects and well ahead of it's time when it was first made still very eyecatching for little ones and my daughter loves it but I must admit so do I.

FLY TALES

Great short cartoons but no voices just the everyday troubles of a normal fly.
Good fun.Suits all ages.

ED,EDD and EDDY

Great cartoon about three friends all named ed in some sense trying to con money out of people or always up to some sort of mischief.
Greatest charecther in this is PLANK as piece of wood with a face who little jimmy thinks is alive great fun for all but maybe a bit above understanding of under 3s.

POPEYE

Need I say anymore we all know POPEYE and OLIVE OIL and BLUTO not forgetting the loveable PEE WEE.
Classic cartoon capers with loads of spinach we all love it im sure.
Suits all ages.

SCOOBY DOO

This really does take me back to childhood and I loved Scooby DOOBY DOOOOOOOOOOOO as we all did and here on cartoon network they have them on everyday and oh what fun with Shaggy and the gang they also show the newer scooby ones but they are a bit to modified I like the oldies best but the kids will love them all.

There are many other programmes on the channel but this is just a select few and I'm sure I have bored you senseless by now so I will leave you with a summery of what the channel is like-

ADVERTS - Right Balance but all aimed at kids.

REPEATS - Yes alot are reapeated but how could they have it on all day otherwise.
They do alternate programmes every now and again.

NEW SHOWS - They screen a new show roughly every couple of months so there is variation.

AGE ALLOWANCE - They have programmes that all can watch so you don't have to worry about rushing to turn over but some suit youngsters better than others.

BYE and thanx for reading.

CARRY ON CARTOONING
Review of Cartoon Network by frannie

Advantages: LARE SELECTION OF PROGRAMMES TO WATCH, NOT REPEATED TOO OFTEN
Disadvantages: CAN BECOME ADDICTIVE!

...rid. A generally feel good cartoon – good always conquers evil. Angela Anaconda – when I fist saw this, I was a bit bemused. To me, it loos like cut outs from magazines, but the strange thing is, it looks like they’ve used actual human body bits as well. They eyes of the characters and the mouths are human which actually makes it seem a bit creepy. The characters are as follows – Angela Anaconda – the main character – quite bright, always in conflict ...
...to the start again. With cartoon network, this isn’t so. There is a continuous run of cartoons – from what I’ve seen, there aren’t many (if any) that are repeated in the day. The only ones I seem to see a lot of the same are things like Tom and Jerry – big an old cartoon, there are limited ones they can show. Every now and then, they’ll show a 2 hour bloc of a certain programme – I’m not sure how they decide which one it will be – I think this weekend, ... Read review

CHANNEL FOR ALL AGES AND ALL SEASON
Review of Cartoon Network by asyis

Advantages: Garfield, TOm and Jerry
Disadvantages: Some voilent action cartoons

...all of them is the Cartoon Network. There is no doubt in comparing these channels but it is still better watching Cartoon Network than these stupid and boring soap opera’s Their were days when we used to enjoy watching He-man, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck shows on the Doordarshan. But after the invasion of the channels, kids are being blessed with one good channel. Cartoon Network. This is one channel, which is for all ages, right from a 4 ...
...the time you can see Cartoon Network, Discovery and National Geographical Channel being played. The policy is simple, laugh and be happy. Don’t Worry be Happy Though, I usually don’t get time to watch much of the shows, but when ever I am at home, I make it a point to see at least one good show and 30minutes of freaking out on the various mischievous of Tom and Jerry or the wacky sense of Humour of Garfield. Some of the fantastic shows ... Read review

Toons of fun
Review of Cartoon Network by vinodgm

Advantages: Good entertainment for children
Disadvantages: None

...finally doing this opinion on Cartoon Network. He’s been watching me writing my ops on Lycos, Virgin and others and was pestering the life out of me to do this one. My son spends at least 2 hours a day on website of Cartoon Network and I have grown accustomed to the site, due to my having to stand next to the computer and trying to cajole him to letting me use it (the computer). There are many sites, available on the Internet, for children. ...

repeats - boring!!!!
Review of Cartoon Network by paulloney

Advantages: scooby doo
Disadvantages: too many repeats

...can or let them watch cartoon network. My daughter loves cartoon network especially scoobydoo, the powerpuff girls and hong kong phooey. The fault I find with cartoon network is that they repeat each cartoon that day several times, yes several times and I am not joking at all. Why don't they bring some of the older one's back to fill up the programmes on cartoon network so you don't have to watch the same old cartoons over and over again. ... Read review

Not just for kids
Review of Cartoon Network by johnt

Advantages: great variety, good older toons
Disadvantages: some new cartoons are poor quality

...all keen fans of the Cartoon Network / Boomerang channels. They give a wide choice of cartoons from the old classic Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo to the new ones produced by them such as Angela Anaconda. Cartoons are available 24 hours if you want them, usefull for unwell kids during the night who can't sleep. Great to see some of the old toons that us parents used to see, our kids enjoy them as much as we did. They offer such a selection of toons that ... Read review

Awesome Anime on Cartoon Network
Review of Dragonball Z by  PunkRockRulez2001

Advantages: Great drawings, fun, good storylines
Disadvantages: Bad Voice actors, Complex stories

...Dragon Ball Z is a brilliant new cartoon on Cartoon Network, originally 'invented' by Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball Z is a well known and popular Japanese Anime (cartoon)and has been brought to our TV screens by Toonami, a company intent on filling our TV screens with Japanese anime. Personally, I think Dragon Ball Z is the ONLY good cartoon on Cartoon Network, even the other Japanese cartoons introduced by Toonami pale in comparison to the marvellous cartoon. Being a big fan of Japanese anime, I have seen the original Japanese version and I prefer the English version, the Japanese people are very different from us (no offense) and their cartoons seem very weird. The only big problem with the English version of Dragon Ball Z is the voice actors, they are pretty poor at grunts, groans and screams. Making the cartoon sound like... Read review

The best on sky for kids
Review of Cartoon Network Plus 1 by  al.humbie

Advantages: great shows
Disadvantages: can't email

...Cartoon Network Plus 1 is simply cartoon network but on hour later, this means that you cannot e-mail or telephone for competitions or any of the like. I tis home of all the great shows like Johnny Bravo and Dexters Lab. I like Dexters Lab best because it is like my life in away because I have an annoying sister like Dexter has. The best thing is it is on 24 hours of the day. Very one of my mates thing that the channel is crummy, but it is not... Read review

Dragonball Z - the show that makes Cartoon Network worth watching
Review of Dragonball Z by  GoldOpinion

Advantages: Action, comedy, plot, its got everything
Disadvantages: Horrible blurring added to UK version, somewhat repetetive plot.

...It has taken long enough for the UK to finally witness Dragonball Z, but it has finally arrived and it is as awesome as we were led to believe. BUT, I must address a concern of mine relating to the blurrriness that has been added recently by our censorship board. It's all because of seizure worries from the light effects and fast motion. OH PLEASE! If anything it causes MORE eye strain than before. Anyway, getting back to the recommendation. It has everything - action, humour, great artwork, and it is one of the few shows on CN to deal with matters such as death or have an ongoing plot. My only problems, besides the seizure-proofing, are the horrible voice actors in the third season - but that is Saban's fault, not Cartoon Networks. Watch and be amazed.... Read review
