Advantages: Big Screen, big memory Disadvantages: Some features don't work properly

The SF7100 has vastly more memory than my old one, and has a feature that ought to permit me to upload it to my PC where I can edit entries and memos, etc. Unfortunately the CD it with didn't work, so I have mailed it back to Casio.
The commands ... ...it and am waiting for Casio technical advice. Also the search command doesn't work as well as the old one did. I need to do searches like this: "Find all the entries that have both London and clarinet". The 7100 can do one or the other but not the combination.
For those who don't need all the features of a Plam pilot or the other fancy PDAs the Casio priced at under £74 at Argos, ought to be ideal. Potential buyers are those ... more

The commands and keyboard are all clear and easy to work. The screen is wonderfully large compared to my previous model.
But... the password command that is supposed to operate on only the bit of memory you want it to persists in interfering with every logon for the whole device. I finally disabled it and am waiting for Casio technical advice. Also the search command doesn't work as well as the old one did. Quick review of Casio Digital Diary SF7100SY
I HAVE PURCHASED THIS ITEM IN 1999. I USED IT FOR A WHILE... THE NEW GADGETS WITH ENHANCED TECHNOLOGY PREPARED THE QUICK END OF MY CASIO AND IT ENDED UP IN A DRAWER (COFFIN) AFTER YEARS I REDISCOVERED IT AGAIN WHILE SEARCHING SOMETHING IN THE DRAWER!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT... WHEN I TURNED IT ON THE DIARY WAS STILL WORKING PRECISELY! I WAS SHOCKED!!! I DID NOT EVEN TOUCH IT FOR 7-8 YEARS! I STARTED PLAYING WITH THE FUNCTIONS AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS DEVICE AGAIN. I AM USING IT EVERY DAY ESPECIALLY FOR MY EXPENSES AND I ENJOY IT A LOT! WHAT A NOSTALGIC THING :-) IT IS A SHAME THAT I LOST THE SOFTWARE CD AND CAN'T CONNECT IT TO MY PC ANYMORE :-( WELL, THAT'S THE STORY OF MY CASIO SF7100 SY ...
