The TV takes 6 AA batteries and they last for up to 8 hours, which is excellent.
Sound ... ...watching eurovision on it, the music was really distorted that I could here much at all. But this can be avoided! If I were you, I would use headphones. It is the in built speakers which make the sound distorted and headphones are the best way forward. And yes, there is a volume control.
The instructions guide is limited. All there was was a slip of paper telling me how to insert the batteries. This is not good enough really. But ... more

One of the worst thing about having a mini-tv is that it can be hard to find reception with the aerial. You must be very dedicated to find a good picture, but in a minute, it could already be lost.
If you drop this TV, I have some bad news. I once dropped it minorly and a membrane appeared on the screen, although it didn't even hit there! It is quite a little fragile thing, so be careful!
This TV was one of the best on the market, but now it seems a bit behind the others. I have seen many of these TV's on ebay for under 10 pounds and that is an excellent deal for such a great mini-TV. I recommend you get one.

This TV is good when you stay still and get a good signal, otherwise it is a nightmare. If you do not get a good signal straight away you are going to have it tough.
Also, on any battery it just about lives for 1 hour if that. Then the screen quality gets very poor, even at the best of signals.
The design is well made and modern.
The channels are not in order so you have to work your way through the stations once or twice to get the one you are ...
