One thing is assured...this camera has serious wow factor!! Compare it with pretty much the entire digital camera population and its thinner, more stylish and of a better specification for the price. This camera, of which I have one, contantly astounds my chunky-camera owning friends.
As any reader of this article is no doubt aware, there are a vast number of cameras available on the market nowadays. So what, exactly, made me choose this one?
I chose this camera primarily due to its high mega-pixel level. Basically put, the more mega-pixels, the better quality the photo ends up becoming!! And, considering I was out to buy a great camera, nothing less that 5 Mega-pixels would suffice.
My second criteria was size. This camera is very much a companion. It's what I'd call a social snappers camera. Its so thin, it'll easily fit into your jeans when you go clubbing or to a party, being only slightly larger than a credit card and about double the thickness of a new iPod Video (thus seriously thin!!).
The EX-S600 comes with a brilliantly clear and large screen, so having taken a photo, you can properly inspect it before moving on. With so many modes (such as sepia, black and white, children, animals, nightsky, silent movie etc) its brilliant in any light. As a university student, I've found it especially useful in architecture lectures, as it has a mode called "White Board", which enables me to take shots of the board from any angle. With this photo, it then re-corrects the angle to make it appear as if I sat dead central on the board (very useful!!).
If you were considering buying an average quality dictation machine, there is no need!! The EX-S600 has an integrated voice recording mode, so I reguarly used it to record my lectures!!
Fancy yourself as a bit of a movie maestro? Well you can be with this camera! The video taking mode is brilliant. Once loaded onto my Mac, the videos are of brilliant quality (unrecognisably different from a movie camera to the untrained eye), so you can record those holiday dinners, swimming in the sea etc whilst taking photos...
If, by now, I haven't convinced you to buy this camera over another, I'm really not sure what else I can say!! This camera is worth every single penny spent on it!! So my recommendation is to buy!!!
