This little camrea by Casio is outstanding. My favorite part is the Massive 2" LCD screen, and how nicely it is built into the design, leaving just enough room for hte controls. the sound effects are pretty cute, allowing the user to set different ones for when the camra starts up, focuses (at half-shutter) and takes the picture. the half-shutter sound has become very useful to me (i have it set as a frog, ribbiting) because it gets my subjects to turn and look at the camrea, just in time for the picture, however, not expecting it to be a picture (such as when one says "cheese"), and therefore nto having plastic smiles platered on their faces. The zoom function while viewing pictures is very useful, and especiually nice noin the large LCD. i keep have the problem that it zooms into peoples' chests (which makes sense, because they are usually in the center of the picture). so that is one reccomendation. when taking pictures of women, and showing them how nice they came out on the LCD screen, zoom in and adjust in private (or tuened away from them) and then show them, dont go through the multiple embarrassing moments that i went through. though the camera does liik a bit easy to damage, i have found that dropping it while off is not a big deal (form a reasonable height) though i do not recommend it. THe lense does seem to have a tendancy to bend easily when dropped at the wrong angle. just use the accompanying wristband. the dock/bay is VERY useful and allows you not only to charge the camera and transfer the immages to your computer, but to play a "slideshow" on a TV (wiht the proper cables). My main complain about hte camrea itself is its tendancy to underexpose low-light pictures. it has a nice flash, but it doesnt ever seem to be bright enough. mos tof my night/low-light pics turned out gritty. it does enhance the glow od a fire or a tableside lamp nicely, however, and as said before, normal-light (daytime) pictures are excellent! my last complaint is the software included. THough not needed on a MAC, as they automatically recognize the camrea and allow one to drag the images onto one's harddrive, the PC software, though pretty and organized, makes it excessively difficult to get at the images you took, whether to make them your desktop or to send them to awaiting family members. I still highly recomend this camera, more for the amatuer day-time fotographer and i also reccomend looking for alternative software. Oh. last comment. the written manual is horrendous! this might be because an electronic manual is also included, but htat is no excuse. i had quite the frustating time trying to figure out all the manuals using the veryt little information in the written manual (as my computer was dead), and i consider myself pretty good at those things.
