Advantages: small camera, large screen, quick shutter time, easy to download to pc Disadvantages: no case, instructions limited
This camera is small enough to fit in your pocket or a small handbag and takes high quality pictures. The LCD screen is larger than on most digital cameras and the menu is far easier to operate and more intuitive to operate than the Sony digital cameras I've used.
Downloading pictures to the pc is really easy - you just plug a small docking station into the pc and sit the camera in it (this also acts as the charger). I had no problem installing ... ...time is much quicker than any digital camera I have used before and the camera handles action shots well. You can also take video clips with sound, which were of higher quality than I expected.
I chose this over the Z55 model because having compared the Z50 and Z55 specs on Casio's website I had to look hard to find any difference and the Z50 was much cheaper.
On the negative side, like practically all other digital cameras I looked at, the Exilim ...

Advantages: long battery, viewfinder, good sized screen, quick shutter Disadvantages: charging needs a dock, no case, intstruction manual limited
although not the first digital camera i had used, this was my first own digital camera. i have had it for nearly 2 years i think, and i have been very impressed with it for the whole time. it has been on 4 holidays and has laste the battering my electrical equipment generally gets.
the camera itself is fairly small, with a good 2 inch display and also a viewfinder for sunny days (something most digital cameras of its size don't have anymore). the ... ...with or without sound, sound clips, snapshots, and then a wide variety of 'best shots' which include many settings for all kinds of photos.
with a high shutter speed and a good 3x optical zoom, the camera takes impressive photos and has a long battery life.
the battery is the only issue i have with it, to charge you need to put it in the dock, not ideal for taking on holiday.
although it doesn't come with a case, they are easy to find, at a cheap ...

little wonder Review ofCasio EXILIM EX Z50by

Advantages: Small, light, Fast startup, big clear screen, veiwfinder, easy to use. Disadvantages: Photo quality is shamefully bad
I bought this camera becaue I wanted something lightweight & small that i could take with me when i go out mtbiking as quite often I'll see something that'd make a good photo whilst out riding. Overall I've been unimpressed with the photo quality (mostly on landscape shots) the focusing seems terrible and 90% of the picture is blurry. Although on portrait shots & macro photo's this camera seems fine. Apart from the picture quality overall this camera ... ...battery life, quite an impressive large screen which is viewable in most situations apart from very bright light, which is when the viewfinder comes in handy.
The charger/Docking station is quite handy although i does mean that the docking station has to be taken with the camera to charge the battery or upload photos to a pc. This unit is very small tho' so shouldn't be to much of a hassle.
Overall could be a great camera it would be unfaultable ...

Manufacturer's product description
The silver metal case of the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 is exclusively made from finest quality materials. Thus the camera possesses the strikingly elegant brilliance of the authentic EXILIM. BESTSHOT functions are practically pre-settings for different motifs and lighting conditions. The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 offers 23 BESTSHOT modes. You can also create, store and call up your own modes with BESTSHOT at any time. New: 2 integrated Business Shot programs for distortion-free reproduction of business cards and projection charts. For flash photos, the background often remains too dark and the motif is not fully illuminated. The solution: Flash Assist. With this function, the brightness of the motif is automatically enhanced. Changing between the normal focus and the macro range is really fast - with the Auto Macro function. The macro region, i.e. the close-up region of the EX-Z50, comprises distances between 6cm and 50cm. Before each photo, the camera measures the distance to the motif and automatically sets the right focal range. Every picture is thus crystal-clear, even close up to important details.
