although not the first digital camera i had used, this was my first own digital camera. i have had it for nearly 2 years i think, and i have been very impressed with it for the whole time. it has been on 4 holidays and has laste the battering my electrical equipment generally gets.
the camera itself is fairly small, with a good 2 inch display and also a viewfinder for sunny days (something most digital cameras of its size don't have anymore). the functions on the camera are extensive, you can take videos with or without sound, sound clips, snapshots, and then a wide variety of 'best shots' which include many settings for all kinds of photos.
with a high shutter speed and a good 3x optical zoom, the camera takes impressive photos and has a long battery life.
the battery is the only issue i have with it, to charge you need to put it in the dock, not ideal for taking on holiday.
although it doesn't come with a case, they are easy to find, at a cheap price.
overall a very good first camera, recommended to all
