Advantages lightweight, slim, easy to use, great pictures, impressive zoom, long battery life

Disadvantages instructions were in Japanese

You'll have to forgive me father for I have sinned. I cannot stop giggling every time I look at the Casio Exilim EX-V7 I've had for 2 weeks. I look at it and think about the gas powered calculator I had at school that needed four heavily set blokes to move it because of its size and weight.

Launched in Vegas (baby) in January with much fanfare in the camera press I just had to get my grubby little paws on one, and when I entered a few (17) competitions to win one I was shocked when I got a text message to say that yes Mr Westonsi, you have you jammy bugger won a £270 digital camera.........................sorry, I started giggling again........................

So why did I get more turned on than a lifer on his day of release falling onto the tour bus of Girls Aloud? Well duh, its the slimest digital camera around dumbo and without looking at it side on you really can't appreciate that its probably 6 credit cards thick if stacked one on top of the other. Yep, its really that thin but the Casio Exilim EX-V7 goes to show that size really does not matter as it is the best thing I've had my hands on for months (my wife has just given birth so no action for a while).

The controls are very basic and in a nutshell it can do two things. Take pictures and record video clips. There are about 8-9 diffrent types of photos to take with shadowing and shading all of which produce a stunning amount of detail. The camera is a 7.2 mega-pixel jobby (what that means I have no idea) and has a zoom multiplication of times 7. What I can say is that pictures taken with the Casio ExilimEX-V7 are quite frankly the best, most colour rich and detailed I've seen and I've used, abused and seen several different models and the Casio Exilim EX-V7 comes out on top in comparison.

Downloading the pictures are easy and the memory device is pretty good storing 50 pics without a memory expansion. The dials on the back to the side of the LCD viewfinder aren't confusing which is a good thing as the instruction manual I have is in Japanese so not too difficult to just play around with the camera to test its capabilities.

Pleased as punch with my freebie and I see many great days ahead for the Casio Exilim EX-V7. If you can get your hands on one, don't let go and you will not be disappointed with the results.

I'm off to continue staring and giggling at my Casio Exilim EX-V7 now thank you very much!
