Let me start off by saying, WOW. Who would have guessed that something so compact and relatively cheap for a good camera, could produce top quality and professional looking photographs. As well as the usual point and snap photograph, there are also 38 settings for all variety of options like portrait, scenery, pets, sports, black and white, fireworks, all with individual shutter speeds and colours to give excellent results. The zoom is fantastic and still produces great shots when in absolute full zoom. Also the macro focus setting is amazing, you have to see it to believe it. There are so many snapshot setting that i haven't tried all of them yet and i have had this camera for nearly 6 months. There are 4 different flash settings, 4 focus settings, including manual focus, which many digital cameras do not have, self timer settings, which are perfect for use with a tripod to take group photos, or family portraits. There is an anti-shake setting, great for those with shaky hands and varying degrees of ISO if you prefer to have anti-shake off. My ISO tends to be on auto and it then works with the anti-shake. There are several white balance settings to get the colours just right when taking photographs. For example, when taking pictures indoors and there are flourescent lights, without adjusting the white balance, people can appear to look slighty green. Changing the setting will get rid of the green and keep you looking flesh toned. Exposure settings and size of photograph can also be changed. I reccommend the biggest size when taking snapshots as they are higher quality and better for editing on the computer. Computer connecting is easy peasy, just install the driver CD Rom that comes with it and then plug in your camera and voila! To print at a photo kiosk in a supermarket or a photo shop, a memory card will be needed which you can buy all over the place. The instruction manual will state which kind you need. Everything on this camera is easy to use and you will get the hang of it really quickly. The battery life is impressive. I have only charged the battery on mine 4 times since i have had it. That is great. This camera is like a small step down from a digital SLR. Great for those who love their photographs and computer editing, but not quite professional, not far off though.
