This is my fourth digital camera, and by far the best. It was not only very affordable, but the features I got for my money is a far cry from what I got in the past.
I was originally attracted to this camera for its stylish good looks. It came in different colours and was slim enough to slip into my pocket. I confess to being a bit of a snap happy fool, and my mobile phone just doesn't live up to my photographic expectations.
Along came my EXILIM EX-Z60. If nothing else did it for me it would have to be the !!!!ANTI-SHAKE!!!! feature. Add to that the six megapixel, three times optical zoom lens.....and those amazing good looks and I was sold.
It is so simple and self explanitary to use (easier than my mobile phone).
As the pixels are higher in this camera than my previous cameras, I am very pleased with the pictures I obtain. The clarity and detail is quite good both in light and dark areas. I have noticed however the camera appears to struggle at times with focussing in poor light. When it does manage to focus the detailing is quite good.
The macro feature is excellent ( I like to photograph bugs for my kids). The focus is sharp.
Besides the three times optical zoom there is also a four times digital zoom. There are multiple focussing settings.
There are a whole plethera of scene modes. More than I have ever seen on any other camera. Your bound to find the one that fits your requirements. There are some you can play around with like, retro, monochrome and old photo.
The camera has three types of continuous speed. It takes TV quality short movies. There is a time delay feature of up to 10 seconds. This can also be done in triple to allow you to take three photos in quick succession. You can also edit your photo's.
The camera can be used as a voice recorder. There is no view finder, instead there is a screen which shows you exactly what your photo will look like.
All functions are accessed via a menu system in simple english. There are few buttons on the camera itself. There are cables supplied to connect the camera to a television, printer or computer. There is also a charger for the lithium battery. The life of which is quite good. I only charged it once prior to setting it up and taking taking 150 to 180 photo's. Being 6 megapixels I would also advise a decent sized memory card. You generally have to purchase that separately.
If your looking for a straight forward foolproof affordable camera, I don't believe you will bet better value for money.
