Casio Exilim EX-S770 - Poor camera quality, overpriced
Advantages: Nice design Disadvantages: Bad photo quality, overpriced
I'm afraid to say there aren't many positive things I can say about this camera and I wish I'd never bought it. The nicest thing about it though is the design, which is one of the first things that attracted me to it. It's very slim and stylish and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It looks like it should be a good camera, but the descriptions, images and reviews of it are very deceiving.
Considering the high price of this ... ...is 2MP, is capable of taking better photographs than this camera. There is no point in macro being on this camera, because you have to be so far away from the object before it focuses that it isn't even considered a macro shot anymore. The photos rarely come out sharp and I've never taken a photo I've liked on this camera.
Considering the high price of this camera, the picture quality is awful. My camera phone, which is 2MP, is capable of taking better photographs than this camera. There is no point in macro being on this camera, because you have to be so far away from the object before it focuses that it isn't even considered a macro shot anymore. The photos rarely come out sharp and I've never taken a photo I've liked on this camera. I know it's not supposed to be an SLR or a top of the range digital camera, but there are far cheaper cameras that'd take better acceptable pictures than this. Almost every person that has been in a photo taken by this camera has commented that the camera makes you look rough and a lot worse than if you looked in a mirror. This is not an exaggeration or people just being vain or paranoid - this camera honestly doesn't do anyone justice. I took the same photo 3 times, one with this camera, one with my camera phone (S500i) and one with Sony Cybershot DSC-T30. The DSC-T30 isn't much more expensive than this camera, but has amazing picture quality and sometimes the photos get mistaken to that taken with an SLR. The picture I took was of a friend and in the DSC-T30 picture, the image was sharp, realistic colours and was a generally nice pretty picture. On the camera phone it was still decent but obviously not of the same quality. On the EX-S700, the image was slightly out of focus even though I had all the right settings on and took it with a steady hand and it made my friend look stupidly shiny, which there was no way she looked like that in person. This camera seems to like to make everyone look like they've been polished and rough, which I doubt anyone wants to have in their family album, especially when they don't even look like that in the first place.
The camera turns on too easily - never put this camera in your pocket. When the camera turns on, the lens comes out, which in a pocket... well, not good news. The amount of times I've heard a nasty crunch and thought the lens has crushed into pieces, but luckily it hasn't (yet). I don't put it in my pocket anymore, or in a special camera case for that matter, cause I don't even use it. I can't sell it either cause it had only been used for a month or so by the previous owner and I'd only had it for a month or so myself and it decides to revert to Portuguese every time you turn it on. Going through the settings every time is pretty annoying.
The screen on the camera is also bad and has really high light contrast and bright red tinted colours. Nothing like the photos look on the computer.
I don't recommend this camera to anyone. I'd understand if this camera was under £100, but the fact it's priced so ridiculously highly for how bad it is, I don't understand. You can find plenty of other cameras for the same price that are so much better.
Advantages: compact small size Disadvantages: Large screen gets easily scratched
...of cameras i chose the Casio Exilim EX-S770. I chose it for its small size, but powerful pixel quality. I got it out of the box and used it imediately to see how good it was. It has a huge screen so i can see all the pictures i have taken clearly, buttons which are similar are grouped together so you can use there functions well, it fits snugly into my pocket, without looking like i have a huge brick in there!! The camera itself has a lot of functions, ... ...or sepiua etc. for use with my work, i can change the setting on the camera instead of editing on my PC. It connects to my PC with a dock that came with it (USB), or i can use the SD card which fits into a slot on my PC too. I am able to connect it onto a tripod to take pictures easier. I really do reccomend this product to othres. The negatives however are very minor, such as it is easier to get the screen scratched as it is larger, i countered ...

Advantages: Great little camera Disadvantages: That you have to buy a case separately
...and again easy to use. I truly cannot find fault, even when having to return the camera due to a faulty battery. Casio were great, I posted it on a Monday; the battery had been replaced and the camera was returned to me by the Wednesday of the same week. ...

Advantages: Robust, Reliable, Portable, Cheap Disadvantages: None that I am aware of
I have now owned theis product for just over a month. I chose this camera as it\'s predecessor the CasioExilimEX-S770 has served me well until i lost it in Israel.
I know the S770 sold very well, so it\'s a bit surprising that Casio has taken as long as it has to launch an updated version, Thankfully staying faithful to the previous.
The ExilimEX-S880 is an 8.1-megapixel, 3x zoom ultra-compact camera featuring a 2.8-inch high-resolution widescreen monitor. It has the robust reliability and superb build quality of the S770 with the same slim dimensions, Making the camera very thin and portable, easily fitting into a pocket.
I believe this to be the best camera in this price range, reinforced by the style of the camera, which is also one of the most stylised and professional looking cameras i have ever seen.
Soon after buying ...

Advantages: Robust, Handsome,Effective Disadvantages: For its price and size nothing really
just stick it in my trouser or coat pocket. It is only mobile phone size. Also the camera wallet which was suppied has a wonderful magnetic snap-shut lid which has never failed and I see little likelihood of it falling out.
My 3rd camera which I bought in 2006 was a red CasioExilimEX-S770. It was super slim and super cool. However I found the picture image quality to be poor and I wasn't happy with it. I would have kept it for a while I suppose but I left it in the seat magazine pocket of an Emirates Airbus on my way home so that was the end of that.
Now for this one - THE LUMIX DMC-FX01 !!!
I need a camera every day in my work and decided to buy one in Singapore Airport. For anyone lucky enough to go to Singapore, their airport has to be one of the best airport shopping sites and indeed best most relaxing airports in the world ...
