+Introduction Well Casio produce the G-Shock (and Baby-G) range, very well i might add, was first made in 1983 with their fist model, the DW5000C. Each G-shock watch was originally made to meet the 'Triple 10' criteria, which consisted of a 10 Metre Fall (shock resistance), 10 bar (100 m water resistance) and 10 years use. It was made so that it could fall in any direction of 10 metres and survive the impact, not just the outer shell, but all the internal components.
The G-Shock today has exceeded those original targets, with 20 bar (200m water resist), bashed against concrete slabs/trees etc (god knows i threw it against the floor my hardest and it didnt break) and over 10 years use so far. I have bashed and knocked mine on various occasions, at moment i work in an outdoor charity centre and its hit loads of tree but still survives.
Each watch has a minimum 10 year guarantee, some have more but non less.
The Range consists of the classic, sport and premium. http://www.baby-g.co.uk/gshock/index.asp
I know 20 bar/200 metres is the depth of a scuba diver, of which i am not, but my watch is equiped to handle that crush depth and be water resistant too, so no worries if you wish to venture into the swimming pool with it on, its not likely to break.
+G-Shock & Baby-G Both watches are made by Casio but the first is made for the male market and the latter the female market, albeit their advertising campaign unlike Yorkies only for men, does not prohibit women from wearing the male version, nor vice versa.
Both watches are made to an unbeatable high standard and for their usuage and general quality they come at a pretty decent price.
+The Strap The straps come in a variety of different styles usually material/cloth or hardened rubber, either way they are made to last, i personally prefer rubber, because it tends to be less susceptible to wear and tear.
+Problems Encountered The only problem i encountered was trying to change the battery, its encased in many different protective layers, you just try and change it, it looks more like a maze than a watch when you open it up.
+The Price I bought mine in Costco, it cost me around £45, the average consumer can expect to pay upwards of £60 (upto about £200 i think) for the G-Shock, and for the Baby-G upwards of £50. Both Brands can be purchased at just about everywhere that sells watches and/or electronics, even places like Argos/Index, just about anywhere to be honest, with very little price difference unless you buy it from Costco, a wholesaler which requires membership.
+Functions You can expect the following from any G-Shock/Baby-G watch,
Water resist to at least 10 bar/100m (G shock only) (Baby-G 50m +)
Advantages: shock resistant, water proof, durable Disadvantages: might not be suitable for evening/formal wear, slightly expensive
...straps too while choosing.
Casio G shock watch has a 'tough' look and that is the type my husband loves.
The case and strap are made of plastic, I chose black colour, though there are grey and i think blue also to choose from. The display is large, clear and striking and has a light blue coloured light. There are buttons on the sides of the watch to adjust the time, day and date settings ,dispalay light and also the world time which is a great advantage ... ...and also birthday/anniversary reminders. Above all, it is shock resistant and water proof to boot. You can call it the toughest and the most practical watch in the world. To my eyes it is quite stylish too.
To quote my husband's words "it's awesome" . It's more than a year since we bought the watch, so far the battery has'nt given us any problem and is very much working. The strap does'nt cause any allergic rashes on the skin and is definitely allergy ...

i have the puppy version of this watch in pink, this is a great watch for anyone who loves dogs, this watch is very tough and will take quite a battering, i know mine has been through more than any other watch has ever managed to sustain and is still going strong.
This is a great watch for telling the time with, you have the option of 12 or 24 hour format, the display has the time displayed in hours, minutes, seconds aswell as the date displayed ... ...of a puppy in the backlight of the watch and there are puppy paw prints on the strap, this along with the pink colour makes this a very tough and elegant looking watch for women.
It has a battery life of 3 years, the calender on the watch goes up to the year 2099 which is way further than i expect the watch to last no matter how shock proof it is, there are 5 indipendent alarm settings, it beeps once every hour but you do have the option of turning ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Casio G Shock Watch"
Advantages: Looks great, tons of features, wont break! Disadvantages: Would look silly on a small wrist.
I was looking for a new watch when the G-Shock caught my eye. These watches were previously highly sought after with insane prices of £100+ being acceptable!
Look & Feel
The G-Shockwatch is pretty stylish. The case is made from a tough plastic, finished in a dark blue colour. The G-Shock logo is displayed on the top of the watch in yellow lettering. The LCD display is quite large and is very clear and easy to read, it is encircled by a silver ring which displays some of the buttons alternate functions and says shock resist on the bottom. There are four other buttons on the sides of the watch to adjust the settings, these are grey, are easy to press and responsive (unlike my old watch on which the buttons were so tiny they were almost impossible to press!). Below the display is the final button, this is black and has the G-Shock ...

Well this is one thing I purchased on looks alone. At almost £240 from Argos it would have to be good and as it turned out it was!
As the previous reviewer has done such a good job on the technical specs etc I'm going to leave them out but one very important thing is the model number PRG-60T-7AVER.
I've owned several watches in the past including CasioG-Shock, Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk Titanium,Seiko Automatic (an old one) and several more basic Casio models.
It is in my opinion an absolute triumph of design and style. A large clear display and easy to use-once you've checked out that instuction manual.
One thing which is very important is that the Altimeter readings etc are a guide.Don't rely on them for critical measurements. The watch is good....but not that good.
It would have been perfect if it had the Radio update via Atomic ...
When GShockwatches were all the rage about 4 or 5 years ago, I decided to invest in one. I did this for a variety of reasons.
Firstly, let me tell you about them.
GShockWatches are made by Casio. They are large, rugged looking watches built to last and look like it.
Allegedly, they are worn by the Astronauts onboard the Space Shuttle so are used to working in extreme conditions. In fact, they used to use this as a marketing ploy.
With the success of their high performance watches in conditions such as space and their diver's watches, Casio decide to approach the general public to offer durable watches for active sports type people.
Windsurfers, surfers, mountain bikers, rock climbers and polar explorers were all supposed to be using these watches.
With the resistance to shock, temperature and moisture, they provided ...
