This is my first Digital Camera, before this I was the owner of a Canon AE1 program. At first glance the Casio looks like a average 35mm but thats where the comparison ends. Downloading to a Home PC is childsplay. There are some slight disadvantages, the viewing sceen is a little small and the viewfinder is not exactly "spot on" leaving you to compensate slightly heightwise. The memory card supplied is OK, but it wasn't long before a larger one had to be purchased. Quality of the rendered image is excellent even in Low Res modes. The biggest disadvantage I found was the shutter speed of the camera, and moving objects is a definate No No. For close ups the Macro settings are really better than anything II have had before and as images can be corrected and manipulated by the PC this is a very big plus in my books. I thought long and hard about this purchase and tested a lot of Digital Cameras before picking this one. It's not the cheapest on the market, but it gives some of the best results and scored very much higer than cameras costing twice as much. Recommended Purchase.
Advantages: High qaulity picutes, easy to use Disadvantages: Poor battery life, slow shutter speed
...Olympus, Samsung and an older Casio model before, and out of these the Casio was by far the best. After reading some of the opinions on Ciao I decided that the Casio QV3000 EX was the one to buy, and I have not been disappointed!
The camera does not look anything special but is absolutely packed with features. The camera and software are user friendly which is important if you want the whole family to use it.
There are a couple of things that are ... ...it is just disappointing that Casio don’t include this in their basic model. The second issue is the battery life, it absolutely eats them, the best way around this is to switch off the LCD screen when not in use but better still but yourself a couple of sets of rechargeables.
The best feature is the delete key. How many times have you got your film developed only to find that half of them are useless? You only get the pictures you want which ...

Advantages: Excellen picture quality, resolution, Spot on focussing, contollability Disadvantages: No filter thread
A truly wonderful device.
The only serious disadvantage with the camera is the limit of the memory card and IBM have come to address this with the Microdrive - capable of holding over 1000 pictures which is enough for most peoples holidays.
It delivers truly outstanding levels of detail and offers an array of controls normally found on top range SLR's.
Metering appears to be spot on. During a trip to Crete I shot over 350 photo's at full res (and ... ...exposed incorrectly despite shooting in bright sunlight, dark churches, partially shaded landscapes and twylight.
The 3x zoom gives up to a 115mm lens length which is good for most situations and focus seems spot on (it is a Cannon lens after all!). Downloading through a USB stunned me with it's speed.
A filter thread would have been a useful addition but (apart from the somewhat old fashioned look), this is the only design flaw.
I wholeheartedly ...

...a flier on the new Casio 3.3 Mpixel camera.
Normally I would wait and see some magazine reviews before buying something like this, but the price was almost the same as the 2.7 Mpixel camera I had chosen, so I decided to go for it. A few phone calls later and I had managed to locate it in a local Dixons, which was pretty good considering it was launched only 2 weeks before. There was no information on the camera in all the usual photography magazines, ... ...same Sony sensor, but the Casio was the first one I saw.
I have taken pictures of just about every flower in my garden because I am constantly delighted with the quality. Some of the pictures are stunning- the colours are perfect- excellent saturation. I normally just set the camera to the program mode- point and shoot.
I have printed images on A4 paper and the results are stunning. I think much better than an equivalent enlargement of a conventional ...

Advantages: EASY HANDLING Disadvantages: can shut down unexpectidly at low power
I have had this camera from when I changed from film to digital.
I have taken several hundred pictures and had sucesses and failures.
I have found that this is a very good all round camera with its easy to use menu and function buttons
There are times in the field when you will want a landscape photograph and having a built in functionthat you can change to is very useful in that you need not rummage in your gear bag for a different lens.

I have found that I have to keep a close watch on the battery power as I have been surprised when the camera shut down when I thought that I had enough power remaining. This can be overcome by using rechargeable batteries(2 sets).Put in a new set at the ...
