It was in the Christmas Sales of 2004/2005 that I bought the Casio QV R61 Digital Camera. At that time there was a special deal going on where you could buy the camera, get a free 256mb memory card and a camera case for free for only £230 which I thought was a real bargain!
If you're anything like me, you get really confused with all the different cameras that's available to buy but after only reading only a little about this camera I was convinced it was the camera for me.
The camera is quite small in size approx 4inches width, 3 inches height and comes in a very chic silver colour.
A battery charger and 2 rechargeable battries come free with the camera so after charging these up and installing them in the camera you can go ahead and take some photos.
The best thing about the camera I feel is that it's so easy to use and if you're anything like me- quite awful at taking photos the camera as it has an automatic zoom will do all the work for you and your pictures will look fantastic.
I won't go into every single detail of this camera but I will concentrate on the main points.
Once you switch the camera on and set the date and time etc you're able to take photos and there are many options on the camera to chose from. You can click on the black and white option, the retro option, the sepia option. So many options and so many ways to make your photos different form the rest. You can also chosse what quality photos you want- the high res quality will use up more of your memory card nad the snapshot option will let you take around 1000 photos for a 256 mb memory card. With the high res option you can enlarge them up to A3 and you won't lose any of the quality which is amazing. I've actually enlarged quite a few of my photographs up to size A3 and framed them and put them on the wall- that's how good a quality they are.
It's so easy to flick from one mode to another so that it makes the camera so hassle free.
There is also a mode on the camera which allows you to take a video clip which is great. The only problem with that is that the video clip is mute- the sound does not record.
The zoom on the camera is 6 mega pixels which in the world of digital cameras is rather good. This enables you to get the best quality photos. The zoom is also very easy to use.
There's a mode on the camera as well which allows you to crop an image or zoom into an image and save it whilst keeping the original as it is. This is great and allows you to get the best out of your photos.
I have found that the battery in my camera will last around 3 days- being on and off throughout those days.
There is also a function on the camera which allows you to take photographs at night but you have to keep very still for this- a tripod would be best.
Another good quality of the camera is that it's got a continuous mode on it. Say that you've got children- they never stay still for you to take a photograph of them do they but with the continuous mode when you press the take button once it will automatically take 4 photos straight after. This ensures that you have at least one photograph of them looking at you!
As I mentioned earlier on it wasn't my intention by writing this review to concentrate on the technical side of the camera but to let you know what I feel about the camera.
To sum up I can honestly say that this camera not only looks good, it will give you brilliant quality photographs and you've got the extras like the black and white photo option and the continuous mode to go with it.
Advantages: Good quality, good zoom, SD card slot Disadvantages: battery life pretty poor, no case

Info
I purchased this camera at Christmas 2006, it cost me £150. This is an excellent camera with 6.0 mega pixels. The picture quality is amazing although when you transfer the image from your camera to your computer the images are quite big in size, although the bigger the size the better quality it should be.
Casio
Casio is a well known brand, Casio has made many cameras although I think that this one has topped them all. There ... ...good quality and good zooms etc, but unlike many other cameras this one does give maximum performance and great picture quality. Cost
This camera only cost me £150 at Christmas 2006. Before this camera was £230 and now it is probably even cheaper now. What ever you pay for this camera make sure you don’t pay more than I did as I paid for mine awhile back as it should be much cheaper now.
Zoom
The zoom of this camera is very good, you can zoom ...

Advantages: Very compact camera, easy to use with excellent quality photographs, with a varied extensive mode to use when taking pictures Disadvantages: Sometimes when taking flash photographs in artificial light the pictures can be a little on the dark side
I bought this camera on a promotion at £199 complete with case and memory card. I found it very easy to use and was amazed at the quality of the pictures. I have used it a lot - as I take 2 cruises a year and take lots of pictures, also I have a 2 year old grand Daughter who I take a lot of pitures of, and as I said above the only negative thing is a few of my pictures in artifical light have been a little on the dark side, but this can be rectified ...

good value, good mode selection, good quality, well built, canon quality, good battery life, good resolution and quality, good manual controls, good LCD
clumpy, clunky design and controls, too big to be a true compact, interface pauses, zoom irritating, not worth the upgrade from G3 (*)
