Casio TV 980

I bought the Casio TV 980 for times when I am out and about, either fishing or out in the sun in the garden.

I bought the mini TV online from ebuyer at a cost of £39.99 including VAT, although its not the biggest TV or the biggest screen it is the only one I could find priced below £50.

I didn’t want to pay more, as it is just a fun item, which does the job and didn’t require a top techie TV.

I would recommend this as a cheap fun tool as it could keep the kids quite on a day out or stop you from missing your favourite lunchtime program or even while you have a little skive at work.

I didn’t want to pay more, as it is just a fun item, which does the job and didn’t require a top techie TV.

The Television has a 2.3 '' screen which operates at a frequency of 50 Hertz, the TV is sort off basic it only has one speaker for the mono sound it is probably to small to cater for two speakers and wouldn’t have effective use of them.

In technical terms (of the instructions) the screen is 2.3" Colour Screen with 39,600 Pixels Display, it is a bright and clear picture with Ti-STN Technology, I found out it is Anit-glare super twisted nematic high quality passive screen.

The TV incorporates UHF Channels 14-69; VHF Channels 2-13 and these can be picked up very clearly and easily indeed.

In the package you don’t get an AC adapter this is optional although if your at home why would you need it, you would want to watch your bigger TV.

And these TV’s are handy as my nephew found out to our cost he is only nine and snuck the TV up to bed with him and spent al night watching TV, bring on new batteries and nightmares for the little devil, He is band now from using it.

As well as the AC adapter you get earphones and, A/V & Ext Antenna Input Jacks so say you have a caravan with an Arial you can use that, or the A/V jacks let you plug in a video, but why you would want to do this is beyond me.

The TV runs either on 4 AA Batteries Or Optional AC Power Adapter (Not Included)
The weight is good to at 0.43 lb the TV is quite light and the depth dimension a depth of 1.49” it is quite small 6” height it is sort off pda size.

For the price and its use it’s a good little buy, and being from Casio a good brand name (remember school calculators) it is quite sturdy although it is basic and cant do such things a teletext it is for under £ 40 a good little glad to have at times item.
