It's a superb tape deck! But nothing else!
Advantages: high sound quality, diverse functions, record to tape mode, record from tape mode Disadvantages: usless instruction manual, useless recording programme, not all cables supplied
The sound quality is good, so is the recording quality. The look and design are brilliant and so is the durability! It's an extremly good cassette deck with a level meter indication feature as well as noise reduction and dubbing which are just the start! In my opinion however, this should just be sold as a normal tape deck as the only real feature that lets it down is the transfering "2PC" mode which is actually the main idea behind this deck!
... ...only one real disdvantage and that is the transfering of a tape to computer media. The software itself seems reasonable enough at first glance since the CD-ROM media actually includes two programmes: a music editing programme called audacity and also the main feature which is the media converting programme. This programme is brilliant since it has an automatic song recognition system, so the programme can search for the correct details of the song. ...

A journey into nostalgia
Advantages: Easy to copy tapes, nice bright sound, easy to use Disadvantages: Sounds notably flatter than cd players, tapes have been phased out, quite noisy
The tape player almost feels jurassic when you consider that subsequently the the compact disc the mini disc followed and could arguably be superseded themselves by blu ray audio. However it certainly brought back nostalgia when listen to this cassette player. As people will have noticed already due to the age of this player and due to manufacturers ceasing production of cassette players, it is now only possible to purchase these second hand. This ... ...benefit of picking up a bargain for very little outlay. Upon seeing this cassette player again, you are instantly reminded of why in it's heyday it was such a popular product. First of all, we have the sturdy rugged built design which means barring accidentally dropping this on the floor, it is definitely built to last. Secondly the attractive feature of this is the twin cassette deck facility which allowed for the easy copying of one cassette to ...

Avoid if you want consistent sound quality!
Advantages: Twin auto reverse. Easy to use. Relay play etc Disadvantages: Sound quality varies due to badly designed auto-reverse system
This is the worst quality cassette deck I have ever owned.
The sound quality can vary slightly each time you play a cassette and it also depends on the direction (auto reverse) and which deck you are using.
The problem is the way the auto reverse is implemented.
The heads are rotated to play one side of the cassette, and not rotated for the other side. And they don't seem to hit the rotation 'end stop' quite right sometimes, which means the heads ...

Talk To Yourself!
Advantages: Easy to operate with one hand Disadvantages: Design covering tape window
...Argos catalogue I saw the Sanyo TRC-525M and as it was a reasonable price I decided to go for it, as I also knew the client I was audio typing for would be using the cassettes that fitted into this machine.
Once out of the small but sturdy cardboard box packaging, I was presented with the dictaphone, which resembled a neat little black brick. Its measurements are roughly 12cm x 7cm and about 2.5cm thick. This is an ideal shape and thickness to fit ... ...operate the controls with just your thumb. Obviously I have to keep picking it up and putting it down in between typing the last sentence I hear, but with the controls all in one place, in a cluster at the end of the machine, it is very practical.
There is a clear plastic flap on the face of the dictaphone, which you can just lift up by a small tab on the edge to insert the cassette, and I do sometimes find this a tiny bit fiddly. Both lifting the ...

Decent Sony for the money
Advantages: Number of features Disadvantages: Only single deck record, and pretty noisy
Its true, I don't think anyone really uses cassettes anymore. But a cassette player was the only device missing from my hifi set up, so when I saw this in my local town I thought I might as well get it...then I could listen again to all those dusty tapes that were now packed away in a box.
The good thing about this device is it has two tape drives. This means that you can copy from one cassette to another. Handy if you have a recording of a radio ... ...out. However, you can only record on one of the decks, not both. You eventually get used to this though, and its rare that you need two copies of the same thing anyway.
Each deck has an electronic counter that is easy to reset whenever you want. The rewind feature can also be set to stop rewinding when the counter reaches zero. This is very useful when you don't want to go right back to the start again.
For some reason there is a speed control ...
