I have naturally dark blondehair but I had been getting various light blonde highlights and had a couple of brown low lights in there also. So my hair was full of varous colours of light highlights.
I was getting sick of the expense and upkeep and was desperate for a change. However, being a blonde all my life I was too scared to go for the plung and get my hairdresser to put a dye in my hair as she informed that it would take a bit of work to get it back to blonde if I hated it. So I thought I would try a bit of semi-permanent DIY.
After reading through this site I came to the conclusion that Loreal Casting Creme Gloss was going to be my best option.
I opted for the colour Iced Latte. I followed the instructions exactley as I didnt want this to go wrong. I also had my hair cut the day before so all my dead ends were gone and was in decent condition.
All you have to do is dampen your hair(it doesnt have to be soaking wet), then apply the dye all over. I left the dye on for the specified time and rinsed it out then used the lovely conditioner.
My hair did go slightly darker than on the colour on the box but I expected this due to my highlings but it turned out perfect. The colour was very even.
There was only two small bad points. My hair felt quite dry straight after using the dye but after the first two washes it was back to normal again. Also if you get this on you face/neck it can stain quicky so wipe it off straight away.
It has been three weeks now since I dyed my hair and it has only faded slightly to a lighter shade of brown, no blonde at all is showing. I only wash my hair every other day so this may help.
I will definatly use this brand again, I will even try a different colour. The best bit is, its only a semi so you can experament more often and the colour turns out near enough exact!!! Worth the £6.00!

Advantages: Natural range of colours, easy to apply, good for those not sure of dying Disadvantages: Richness fades quite fast, smells quite sweet til you wash it 2nd time :P
Advantages: none Disadvantages: too many to mention
